Political Correctness run amok

What are they going to tell the third stringers, "take a knee each play"?

When my step-son played indoor soccer last year, the leading score was frozen if the leading team had more than a 6-point lead. Then if, and when, the other team caught up, scores were allowed for both teams. That's fine and dandy for 6-7-8 year olds, but when the kids are teens, they really ought to know how it feels to be defeated and how to deal with it. What is the magic age for teaching kids there's a winner and a loser?

Winner and Loser??? Right age????....... the first time they get that idea in thier head that they don't need to do what they are asked to do - and they are old enough to know they are defying (testing) you as a parent. If I recall for my kids it was about 12 to 15 months. For my grandson it was about the same.

First lesson of "winner and loser" should be at home. I'm the parent - I win - end of story. If you have that ground rule down - it's easy to explain that concept of "fair play". They need to know someimes you "win" cause others help you "win" by not being afraid to lose. Very complicated stuff. Not sure it's really neccessary to wipe the field with any team but I think if you are ahead by 50 points you don't need to look for anymore arteries to cut either.
