Lots of women say that cause they got a fella that don't know no better and the fella is never gonna change. You say that so you don't have to make excuses for your humiliation. My favorite term about a year before it ended was "If you can get him - you can have him" I finally got tired of makin any excuse for any man - my X never did anything that I had to make an excuse for. Turned out to be the better deal.

I used to say that for my Kansas boy - but truth is - it's disrespectful to go out and be so flirtatious that others are thinkin your fella is single. Pictures of Gibson hangin on women may not be what they appear. I know Mel is in deep trouble but geesh - he was never in trouble before - he's not a politician he's an actor - who cares?? And if they do - WHY???? That's like sayin the woman that called me a white bitch today deserves to be plastered all over Galveston County News.......... truth is - it's her problem not mine and really it's only words - didn't change my view of her bein a bigot and relieved me of havin to give her kid shots during my lunch hour. Ended up bein a win / win for me.

I agree TexKan. He's an actor/entertainer. Who gives a crap what he thinks in real life? I also agree that being concerned about a spouse that is a flirt isn't insecurity but experience.

I think we tend to judge these people by our own set of moral rules we set from what we see in them. For example, I like Mel in the Mad Max and Lethal Weapon series but wouldn't bother to see him in something such as Father of the bride. I see his character as a bad good-guy and making a raciest remark about Jews isn't out of character. I also like Clint Eastwood as the bad cowboy but don't care for Dirty Harry. It wouldn't surprise me to see Clint Eastwood make a raciest remark about Mexicans but calling cowboys a bunch of gays would probably make me view his movies a bit different.

Like the Dixie Chicks thing. Had Axle Rose made the same comments he would probably have sold more records, but it was out of character for what most people thought about the Dixie Chicks.
