HutchNews.... SHAME ON YOU!!!

Hutchinson police nab suspected graffiti artists
I believe an Artist carefully chooses his canvas to include ownership or permission, or even commission. If you must use a title beginning in A, I suggest that 'A$$holes' is more precise.

Quote:
Detectives with the Hutchinson Police Department have apprehended three juveniles they suspect are responsible for the recent spate of graffiti throughout town.

Sgt. Thad Pickard said officers identified the suspects on a Wal-Mart surveillance camera after the store reported graffiti in the men's restroom early Tuesday afternoon.

Officers confined the juveniles before noon Wednesday and declined to release their names. A 14-year-old boy, 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy all face criminal damage charges, Pickard said. The 14-year-old faces at least 18 counts of criminal damage, with the total likely climbing to 20 or 25, Pickard said. The other two boys face two counts each for criminal damage reports from Wal-Mart and Sears.

The damage wasn't limited to one area of town, and it has been reported during the past several weeks. Officers recently captured another graffiti a$$hole that used the name "Switch," which he allegedly spray painted on area businesses.

Likewise, police suspect one of the juveniles arrested Wednesday of spray painting the street name "Sonic" throughout parks and businesses, including the Cub Square restrooms, Head Turners Salon, Sweet Home Bakeries and Grace Episcopal Church.

Pickard said there's no good way to calculate a dollar amount for the damage the juveniles allegedly caused. Some business owners simply spray paint over the area, while others sandblast the graffiti and repaint.
BTW, yesterday's News headlined Hutch's city budget as 19 million when 91 million is more korrekt.

So the Mona Lisa would not be art if it had been spray painted on a wall?

I read fine, I was just using an example to question your definition of art, because I think its bullshit.

According to the above definition, if he had permission to use that wall, it would be art. If he did not have permission, it would be graffiti.

Thanks dodgehighforeve. Reading with comprehension isn't universal but you seemed to be awake when it was taught.

Yes, I read your definition, your obviously not evolved enough in the english langauge to realize that a statement can be anwsers with a question.

I think your definition is very..well, stupid.
I'm one of those *******'s who think graffiti can be art, yes I know bad me.
But the idea that art has to have permission to exist is insane.
If Dali had done "swans reflecting elephants" on the top of some moron's car without permission it would still be art. Art is concerned with creation, not the legal standing of real estate ownership.

Would everyone please help me welcome Mr DaVinci to the board. After 400 years in hiding, he's decided to resurface here.

Welcome, and have a cold one on us.

Ya might want to pop a valium while you're at it.
