I went to several Legend games this year that had very good crowds and made for a fun and entertaining evening. While the civic center wasn't filled to capacity, there was still a good turn out. Were you there? Instead of bithing about how bad Dodge is. Why don't you spend a couple of bucks and go to a game and try enjoying yourself instead of bitching about the city. Who knows, you might just be the lucky ticket holder to fill the civic center to capacity.

Easy, there, Bubba.........I read Mike's post in a little different light. Like he's bitchin', but he doesn't bitch about everything - there's good and bad in his posts. Besides, didn't he run for City Commission? If not, shame on you!!! It's people like you that make good candidates, cuz you seem to have a real sense of responsibility!

First of all, yes I have been to the civic center many times and have seen the Ledgends play! And yes I did have a very good time and enjoyed myself greatly! The Civic Center is a great facility! Better than any other in this part of the state!

I also enjoy our municipal golf course, one of the best in S.W. Ks. I go to our mall and ledgends softball complex. Also think that the Sheridan Center is a outstanding facility! D.C.R.P. is one heck of a nice dirt track! (it needs to be re-organized) We have one of the best school districts in the state.

We have a quality Community Colege! We have good parks in Dodge! We have Lake Charles. Where I go trout fishing every year! We have the only Mall in this part of the state!

Shall I go on? We have some of the best resturants in S.W. Ks. right here in Dodge! A place called the Alley for our kids! A great Library and just across the street is the Ks. Heritage Center. (which Jim Sherer, our mayor, does a great job running)

We have a great attraction at Boot Hill, The Dodge Depot is a very fine facility! There are just to many things to list!!!

I think for you to try bashing me for voicing my legitimate concerns in Dodge City is completely wrong! I do get out more than most and do support our community. By looking at the number of posts you make at just this web site alone, compared to mine, I think a fair question would be: do you get out?

I know that you as well as many others want what's best for Dodge, as do I!

I'm just looking a some people to be accountable with our tax dollars!

I just gotta throw my two cents in----I agree with you Mike, especially on the Meals on Wheels. What a crime that is---let's go ahead and starve those old people that built us! Makes me really look forward to growing old in Dodge City! Also, I agree with you too Bubba. I have attended the Legend games from season one, and I have enjoyed most of them. I have got to know alot of the players and teams, and have built some friendships. What concerns me Bubba, is what happens when they build the SEC and move the Legend games there? The Civic Center, with a good crowd, has great atmosphere. You put the Legend in a Large facility, similar to the Salina Bi-Cen. Center, and there goes the atmosphere. BIG is not always Better! Now both you boys play nice, as I enjoy both of your posts and respect you both!

I didn't really think I was "bashing" you. If you took it that way, I apologize. It just seems to me that there are quite a few citizens that are the first to complain about things in Dodge City, but don't go out to support anything in Dodge City.

Weezie, I would be glad to send you all of that nostalgic SMELL, along with roasting cow guts, rendering fumes, Chamness gunk, ammonia/urea, that Pakistani motel smell, the aroma off of the DC lagoons, and Lurker's farts. Hell, I will even throw in all the ankle biting flies just for the nostalgia of it all!!
