Telling people our troops would be greeted as liberators with song and dance might have had something to do with it. I can see how some people would make the translation to "day at the beach" level of thinking.

Well I still don't see the translation. Besides, If I remember right there was singing and dancing in the streets greeting the troops on the news.

I think the Democrats need to pull their heads out of their polls. They are so out of touch with reality. I see them saying the majority of America thinks the war was a bad idea and that the majority thinks we should get out. Then I see America looking around at each other saying "Where the hell they getting this stuff?" The majority I know thinks the was was necessary and we should stay until we are no longer needed.

Sometimes I think they get these "polls" from the last democratic convention.

(As any good wordsmythe should know) Given that our withdrawal would be a sign that the Iraqis have things under control, when the Iraqi people were polled with the question “Do you want to see American troops out of the country?” it’s not surprising that a majority said “Yes.” But when ask “Do you want to see American troops out of the country now?” the result was the majority said “No.”

Do the majority of us want our folks home? You bet we do. Do the majority of us want to cut and run? HELL NO!

The other side of that is - Ya'll ride to the white house on the "cut N run" plan. It looks like smooth sailin - but by the end of 4 years - it's such a mess over there cuase the job wasn't complete due to the desire by some just to be in the big house that the followin election.......... we are back in - cleanin up the mess that the far left coulda avoided, back into a conflict that shoulda been done right (with committment) , and woulda never happened had the voters actually been listenin to history rather than leftest hype.

There is much more at stake here than which party has the white house! We need to get to a point we can exit but when we exit we need to know we did everything we could do to make sure there was a fair goverment in place that represents all those crazy muslims........ not just the strong ones. That's one of the things they were dancin in the streets over...... no more dictatorhip!

There is a war with terrorists but it's not in Iraq.

The only terrorists that are there are the ones who showed up after we got there and the ones who decided to be terrorists to fight us.

If W had done his real job instead of what he wanted to do we'd have troops for Afghanistan, which is seeing a rise in violence, and we'd have troops for Iraq and North Korea.

Instead they are conscripting people who've already served this country and throwing them back into their ill conceived war.
