| Speaking of intolerance. We're all guilty of being intolerant. We draw our own lines of tolerance and then point fingers at those who don't except our line. The only real difference I see between people of faith and the rest is where they draw their line and who draws that line. People of religion let their faith draw the line for others the line is drawn by our politicians. If you think about it people of faith are just more Conservative and view the rest as liberals, and we all know liberals ARE the root of all evil. Personally I see this rainbow coalition no better than the Phelps bunch. The tolerance door swings both ways. Any way it should swing both ways. Freedom of religion was very important to Americas founding. Not just your religion but all religion. If that religion teaches its a sin to be gay, then they should be free to live by it. It's not our place to judge the faith of others. I believe this is really what our founding fathers had in mind.

| Detector, There is NOBODY on par with the phelps clan. Maybe in the early beginnings of the Nazi party there would be some comparison but nothing teaches the hate like these people do.

| You are entitled to your opinion as is anyone else. I see them both trying to accomplish the same thing just at different sides of the fence. I believe if a community chooses to be intolerant toward a group it should be their right. Now if that community choose to force their beliefs on a majority elsewhere, then by all means send in the dyke's from hell. But they are no different than the Phelps bunch. The reason I feel the way I do is because I believe in the majority rule. I know what about protecting the minority. I believe its important to protect the minority but equally important is protecting the majority. Is it fair that one person take presidency of many? NO! I don't think it's coincidence that people like Ophra is studying small town America. I think small town America is on the endangered list thanks to the exact thing going on in Meade. The old timers like to talk about the days when growing up in a small minded community is to thank for the way they are today. A day when you could leave your doors open, everyone looked out for each other and everyone pitched in when a neighbor was in need. Often people in these vanishing small communities live there to raise their children in the same environment they had as a kid. Hoping it would have the same influence on their kids as it had on them. As adults we are better able to live with things around us we don't care for and continue to keep our own beliefs in tack. Kids are not and we know this. We tell our kids to stay away from bad elements in our neighborhood but know they will still be influenced by them. Why are these people considered bad elements? because they don't fit within our line of tolerance. Don't take this the wrong way I'm in no way endorsing the Phelps bunch but lets look at from more tolerant view. Why is it when the Phelps bunch make the scene they're instantly branded as jerks trying to push their religious beliefs on others, but when the color coalition makes the scene they're there protecting the rights of others? In fact both are trying to force their life style on others. It is simply a matter of where you stand or draw your line that separates the two.
