They were probably doing in front of the building they used to rob and defraud people of their identities and money.

I was watching an interview with the reporter tonight and he said that the property belonged to the man he was interviewing. That man had been threatened by the couple and he had a restraining order against them.

Mr. Mattes is the reporter who got beat, that tells me he wasn't reporting. He was trying to provoke an incident that would be newsworthy and raise ratings for his station and make him a star. That would be the only reason for him to call the guy and tell him you are going on the air.

OK Bubba, it works for me now. Take a second look at the entire paragraph that you quoted.

Suleiman refers to a previous counsel. There is no reference to any time frame so was this call 10 minutes before the fight or several weeks? I don’t know, do you? Does anyone really know if the interview was live or being taped for later? If the call Suleiman was talking about was last month you couldn’t call it provoking for that day. Also it’s common when a reporter is breaking a story like this to call the subject being discussed and offer him time to tell his side. “I’m going to go on air.” hardly sounds like a complete thought let alone a complete conversation. There’s just a lot of unknowns at this point.

By the time all the criminal and civil suits are settled it will be months from now and this story will history. We might not hear how it turns out.

I would assume it was taped. Also, you keep getting it wrong. He was NOT breaking the story. The story had already been exposed. You can see that from the video where the reporter went to Suleiman's office and tried to talk to him. This story was nothing more than an attempt to provoke a reaction from the object of the story.

Go back to the first post and have another look at the video. It cleary stated that this story broke in July. At that time this reporter had a good idea that this guy had a bit of a temper. They even used footage in the video of the reporter getting thrown out of the guy's office. So, the reporter, knowing that the guy had a temper kept egging him on hoping to get a dramatic response. Well, he got one. If you look at the interview that msnbc did with Suleiman, he claims it was other people that he was in business with that did it and not him. He claims that he didn't know it was going on. This is America, and we are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. I will reserve my judgement until the end of the trial.

Sounds to me like a legitimate ongoing story and he called to let the guy know he was going to go on air with what he had.

I'd have done the same thing in order to give the guy a chance to respond to the allegations.

Then if he came after me I'd tell the camera guy to keep rolling as long as no weapons were involved.
