I hate to sound like an isolationist ...but Lurker is right... even in day to day life..... an individual ...when he/she is teetering on the brink of disaster (divorce/other) because he/she has stretched theirselves so thin and wearing so many hats , that their family is suffering, they are getting pissed off cause it seems to the family that they care more for everyone else other than their own......he/she has to step back ...regroup ... take a break ... close himself off so to speak and pay close attention to what is not working in his own home..because...........well you know

Its not that his family is being selfish...its just because the home around them is falling apart and needs repair... in every way...and he/she being in charge is not paying attention to it....lordy lordy...

to put it simply.....the head of the household has stepped into quicksand and if not pulled out soon he will be in too deep and will pull his family in with him...

I have to laugh about the big fuss on Bush’s low poll numbers. The Democrats in Congress poll a lot lower but you hardly ever hear about that. What rubs me wrong is the folks that are so wrapped up in Bush bashing that they say stuff that hurts all of us in the long run. Like all the flap about torturing captured terrorists for example. It gets broadcast all over the world that we torture folks because we put them in a cold room and keep them up all day and night with loud music. Those Arabs on the other side of the globe hear torture and think about chopping off hands and gouging out eyes. This is something that should be discussed and dealt with behind closed doors and not on the world’s TV screens.

TexKan, I caught most of that Waco thing on Discovery the other night too. They started to lose me when that sheriff gave us a line of crap about Federal gun laws. They left out a lot of stuff that made the government look bad in that mess.

I just lost it when I realized the FBI knew thier cover had been blown, Koresh let the UC agent go, and they still stormed the place and lost so many brave officers. That whole thing was a disaster and led directly to OKC....... refresh my memory....who was "in power" then???? I remember how sick I became when i saw the officer getting shot outside the window - I was altho glad they had done something - but I remember that was the beginning of many ruined birthdays for me. It hasn't stopped yet........

That was our old pal “Slick Willie” and just a few days after the lovely Janet Reno started her new job. It’s been my impression that Ms. Reno got BS’ed about a lot of stuff like the CS gas.

Remember that famous Treasury agent, Elliot Ness? He got his reputation by calling a reporter buddy before a raid so he could have the press on hand and get publicity. Following his lead the ATF had called the media in advance and had the press on hand at Waco to film the raid. It was called Operation Showtime. Sound like a publicity stunt to you yet? There was talk in Congress at the time about rolling the ATF into the FBI as a cost reduction. A lot of those Revenuers weren’t real happy about the idea of being put under another agency. Ain’t politics fun TexKan?
