Probably the most ludicrous thing I've heard. Attitudes like that are why congressmen act like they do. Standards are standards when it comes to elected officials.

Bubba, Texie's right about Bill's impeachment. It wasn't about the act, it was about his lying to the wrong folks.

This mess will be very interesting to watch.

Closet gay CONgress critter.
Alcoholic.
Catholic.
Molested by his Clergy.....?
Too much money.
Too little real work to do.
Under the looking glass.
Many other folks willing to kick him and those who surround(ed) him.

Makes my problems look small.

Probably the closest thing to "name callin" Ive seen. Be careful - just cause I don't agree with you don't mean my ideas are ludacrous. - they are just different than yours.......... If standards are standards............ how come Bill just didn't resign???........ Mark Foley did. Age 16 is not necessarily an illegeal thing....... it's NOT a child in many states......possible the one that this so called event took place in. Also - has anyone questioned the fact - of why now??? Do you keep emails / IM's for 2 years????......... open your eyes... it's election year!!!

You should probably stop "looking" at it. That won't make it any bigger and you might go blind.

What Bill did was not a crime. Morally wrong? Yes. Criminal? No. Mark Foley should resign. He tried to have sex with a minor. Sex with a 16 year old is a crime in any state, as far as I know. The age of consent is just a standard age that you won't be charged with statuatory rape. You will still probably be charged with indecent liberties with a minor. Unless, you have connections or are a government official. Time will tell on that, let's see if he is charged.

You are forgetting HE did not have physical contact with anyone. This is just gettin blown out of porportion. What he did was and is disgusting. What Bill did was and is the same. We trust presidents not to assault the staff. We trust politicians in general.......... first mistake. I still say there may be no charges........ again......... do you save emails or IM's for 2 years...???? Talk is harmeless when it's not followed by action. And it appears to me this 16 yo talked a pretty good game himself. Just think a lot of points are being missed here cause it's getting to be all about politics.. and it's not a political issue.

I normally agree with you, Bubba....but I have to call BS on that last one. Clinton lied about it. The impeachment was about the lies, not about the fact that he couldn't keep it in his pants (or the cigar in his mouth, as it were). Now I see TK already chimed in.....so just ignore me!!!

I know that in this state someone in a position of power over a minor is precluded by law from having sex with them. Such as a teacher/student relationship.

Even if the student is legal age in Kansas it's still not legal to do it under those circumstances. Just like it's legal to have sex with a 16-year-old but it's illegal to take a picture of it.

Maybe the law is different in Fla but I don't think so.

Bill was impeached for lying about something that really was a private matter between him, his family and Monica.

He stood his ground, was impeached and found not guilty.

This guy tried to screw little boys! Now it's starting to look like higher ups knew about it and decided to cover it up for their own political gain.

Bottom line is if you put yourself up for election the precedent has been set that NOTHING is off limits for the other side.

People need to quit having the double standard of attacking someone and then getting pissed when the other side does the same thing to them.
