| I heard they were gunna demonstrate in Pennsylvania's funerals. If so, the media's downplayed it. True? False?

| They were going to picket the Amish Girl's funerals but some radio host offered them an hour on his sho in exchange for leaving them alone. I think if they'd have gone the Amish would have simply prayed for them.

| I don't think he was doing it for the ratings or show boating but I also don't know if I think he should have made the offer in the first place. Maybe it would have done the Fred Heads some good to see how real people of Faith conduct themselves. If they can forgive the mosnter who murdered their children, and from all accounts was planning to do even more to them, then I'd be willing to bet they'd have simply forgiven the Phelps Cult. I also think it sould have had the far reaching effect of rallying even more people against these people. To protest at the funerals of these little girls is an act almost on par with the evil perpetrated in thei murder. I don't know if Gallagher's motives were pure but I'd be willing to bet he was just trying to do a good thing here. Sometimes a good thing isn't always the best thing but I do applaud his efforts.

| In this life you do what you think is right. Phelps and Gallagher apparently did that. Do you negotiate with these type folks? Some say yes, some say no. I say no one person will correct the wrong most of us feel that Phelps does. I doubt very seriously if Phelps would have riled the Amish. It's just not something that I would see happening. I almost wish he would have done it just to see what would have happened to thier church then. Perhaps Gallagher is a saint for avoiding what would have been probably a real ugly scene - Phelps would have gotten more coverage and gotten his message out much better if he had shown himself to the nation what a fool he is. Soldiers funerals are not always "national" business........... the Amish funerals were and still is. They have a funeral today and another that surely will occur - we'll see how long he stays quiet. He only bartarted for the first funeral - right?

| I guess townhall decided to bloat their website and popup a vonage pitch. Too bad. FWIW, Townhall.com::No good deed goes unpunished::By Mike Gallagher is a link to both pages of the article and the comments.
