John lennon death

Did any one catch that news story about Mark David Chapmans days/hours/minutes before he shot John Lennon? It was very detailed. I was 14 when he died. I heard it on my radio in my bedroom that very night. I remember walking out to the living room to tell Mom and Dad. My mom instantly started to cry. I didnt understand the significance of this news until the days following when it seemed like the whole world was in mourning. Does anyone else remember where they was when they first heard?

I got up that morning to go to work and heard it on the radio. I have always been a big fan of the Beatles and a bigger fan of Lennon, the man was a musical genius. 20 to life in prison is too good for Chapman. He obsessed about Lennon and shot him just to become famous for something. He's an a-hole.

I wasn't a big fan of lennon AFTER I came out of the "fog" of the late 60's. I was with them till after the White Album. I think I started comminout of my coma then. Don't remember where I was when I heard. I just thought they had all sold their souls to marketing...... but he was a gifted musician no doubt about that. No one deserves to get "taken out" early.

Ya I think I was at home when I heard the news, my brothers were all upset. John Lennon is one of my brothers idols to this day. I have a John Lennon poster in my livingroom and I love it! I love John Lennon and all he stood for. I can't believe that Chapman did that!grrrrrrrr

I was sitting in the lounge before work, reading the morning paper. I was such a HUGE fan of the Beatles and John Lennon. I remember putting down the paper and just sobbing. I was one of the youngest employees at that time, and no one else could understand why I was so upset. I am still a big fan of John Lennon's music.
