| KC.... absolutely right.... Watching the news today.... dont remember which channel.... they showed a group of our troops that goes into a certain village every Friday...and interact with the children and it was awesome....the kids just adore the soldiers..... and run after them and the troops play with them ...teach them english words... learn their words.....WE NEED SCENES LIKE THIS....and as the reporter said.... Its the children that we can impact and let them know ...we aren't monsters and maybe when they are recruited to be haters of americans ...they will be able to stop and think......" THATS NOT THE AMERICANS I KNEW" ... I would love to see more reports on the GOOD we are doing.....cause there it was this morning ....we know in our hearts ....there is plenty more where that came from....

| They havent' reported "good news" since the 60's. Seems like blood, guts, gore, dissention, hatred, and sex is the kinda news that sells..... tooo sad. There are lots of good stories - Everyone feels they wanna be the source of the "scoop", the "hard hitting story", the "dirt and scandal"...... I'm as guilty as anyone about turning to the "unbelievable" stories. Perhaps I should rethink that. Maybe some softer news would be nice. Lord knows we got plenty of "hard news"........ My guess is that it wouldn't sell viewers long enough to make it a permanent part of the broadcast.

| Just came back from grocery store... heard a woman talking to another woman... she said her son ...9 year marine vet...just got orders for his second deployment to Iraq... he told her ...."Mom please dont pay any attention to all the mess you see on the news.... it is messy but the good outweighs it" .. So I had a day of feeling more comfortable about it...who knows how I will feel tomorrow...but that news today and the conversation I heard....gave a better message for at least one day I sure want to see it end...... but not end as another Viet Nam..
