The Ross Report

An editorial scheduled to appear on Monday in Army Times, Air Force Times, Navy Times and Marine Corps Times, calls for the resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

The papers are sold to American servicemen and women. They are published by the Military Times Media Group, which is a subsidiary of Gannett Co., Inc.

Here is the text of the editorial, an advance copy of which we received this afternoon.

I don't know Wordy - I looked at the slide and saw one area of "critical" in the indicators. Does this mean the sky is falling? I'm not choosin sides here but based on using the indicators as a guide........... looks like business as usual to me. I saw improvement in several areas - the green equates peace - the green on the indicators shown say "progress" to me. Statistics.... it's all how ya read em!

Also the leaking of a slide isn't an endorsement to me. These indicators I'm sure are tallied each week..... I think ya need to see an overall pattern of doom before ya gather the children and run to the basement!

Texie, for someone that claims to not pay attention to politics you might like to know that you hit the nail squarely on the head. It’s a one week snapshot that’s not consistent with the overall picture.

and...........like I've said before, this freedom of the press to print/tell every detail of every meeting in Washington has given the enemy comfort. Treason is the word that comes to mind. Some things just shouldn't be published.

I'm with ya there KC - I'm not any party affiliation but seems the logical party is Republican.......... the reactive party seems to be Democrat...... I think chickin little is a Democrat!! LOL

I just don't see this as an earth shakinin event....... it's a leak that's for sure and a firing squad might be in line for the folks that continue to give aid and comfort to the enemy that are killin our soldiers.

As far as this tellin me that the military is throwin the towel in???..... naaawww that's not what this is at all. Any operation had indicators to determine if the successes are there or not. Anything ya do now must be measureable. This just tells me the Bush administration is accountable based on measurable indicators they look at and by what I saw......... it' lpoks pretty damn good to me.
