| Tee, Sadly, very sadly, your opinion is more factual than it is an opinion. Time will prove it.

| Here's my idea - how bout the city and taxpayors build me a new house - I'll live in it and ya'll pay all the utilties, insurance, food, and my shopping expensis. Meanwhile I will hold garage sales everyweekend and keep the money to attend events in Aspen, New York, Chicago, and Dallas. I'll let ya'll know how much fun they were and I'll send postcards to the city fathers. Sounds like a hell of a deal to me!! What a crock - I sure hope they don't go for this and I hope ya'll don't let it happen!

| Ah, Dodge City. How I miss thee... This is a bad idea. I mean, granted there is nothing bigger beteween Wichita and Denver, but who the hell is going to pay those prices to come see anything at this event center? |

| I think it is those that don't want it built that might be behind doing it this way. Maybe they figure if we show them how screwed up we can do it, nobody will want it to be built.

| event center and sale tax Stop all of the money that goes south out of dodge every friday. ( 10's of thousands) likely. Collect all the sales tax from the rotation of all that money, give it to the Why not Dodge crowd. They could build two more "Memorial Event Centers" (One we could smoke in, the other to drink beer in). They could build 7 (seven) more Fotball Fields. They could build a 29 mile walking path around south Dodge. They could build a dome over the DCRP, and the footbal field.T The list could go on an on. |

| I got the same impression from the meeting myself. There looked to be little doubt this company would reap the rewards from the project. They plan it, they build it, they run it and they keep the money. It also sounded as if most of the jobs would be outsourced as well. I do think this could be a good idea for the right city, but not Dodge City. This whole SEC issue has been a sore spot for me because I feel someone(s) needs to be held accountable for why we are where we are. Who has the power to override the voters? Now I find myself having mixed feeling on even building the SEC. Things are much different now than when the SEC was voted in and I think someone knew this would be the case if they just stalled long enough. My feelings today are we have many more issues to deal with before we even think about trying to draw outsiders to dodge. We need to make a choice, and stick with it, as to the future of dodge. Is our future going to be through industry or tourism. We can't have both. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Dodge City has the potential to be the world famous name it has. We are like no other in Kansas and only Tombstone shares a likeness in the southwest. I've heard it said that Wichita can't make a Boot Hill clone work so how could we expect to? Only in their dreams could Wichita hope to compete with Dodge City with a wild west theme. We are the real McCoy by name AND by legend. Only the lack of fore site by past leaders do we find ourselves even doubting our potential for greatness.

| ( 10's of thousands) likely.--quote More like MILLIONS, there booger! By the way, Thanks Tee for the report. According to the article in the Glob this morning, it was totally the other way! It sounds like we are going to get stuck with another "DCRP"! And a "Hockey Team"!? We can't even support a professional basketball team, and now we are going to support a HOCKEY TEAM??? Isn't Wichita struggling with supporting the Thunder? And they have a helluva lot more fans to draw on than we do! |

| After reading the article in the globe online, I see that they manage the Budweiser Center in Ft. Collins, CO. I wrote the Ft. Collins chamber of commerce the following: I have some questions that you might be able to help with. It is my understanding that you have the Budweiser Center that is managed by Global Entertainment. Would you say that the city and residents are generally pleased with the management of the center ? What kind of events are at the center? Are you pleased with the type and number of events that Global Entertainment provides? I ask these questions because Dodge City is considering entering into a contract with a new event center that is to be constructed here. Your help and answers would be greatly appreciated. I will let you know if and when I get an answer from the Ft. Collins Chamber office.
