You guys bitch about the media CONSTANTLY laying blame for all your woes.

Now something that is just plain hackery and should have been caught by simple, proper, editing comes across and you think it's funny.

I don't get PAID to write anything on here but if I DID I'd expect people not to accept an inferior product.

This kind of thing is what makes any publication seem shoddy and keeps me from actually buying a paper anymore.

I don't think they are broke yet from anyone's lack of subscription. Honestly - it's a small town newspaper - that's part of the fun of reading it. The fact they seem to be slow in printing some stories may be due to someone in Kansas City and not someone in Dodge. Hell it's better than a weekly paper and they were always nice to me in my former life - this is really a funny slip of the edit - if ya can't find a little humor what good are ya?

I think the Globe has been very supportive of our site and I would just like to add - Wordy don't live in dodge anyhow - don't pay any attention to his rants - they will not stop but they aren't as important as he likes to think they are. Too bad we all can't be flawless......... what a bore

Wordy, old boy! Relax! He said he didn't proofread it as he should have before he left for the night. Heck, I do that. It doesn't show up in the paper (often), but I do it. In some instances, it would make a problem for somebody - like a price in an ad, for instance. But any person in his right mind would know better......mercy, me, kiddo - take a pill!

Anyway - had some admiring fans of yours in my office today. Their fave was the sepia one.

I am the first guy to bitch if they don't run a story that is important or suppress it because of the powers that be. I am the first one to bitch if they get something very wrong that is of material interest to the story.

But when it is something obvious, humorous, doesn't hurt anyone, and the creator apologizes publicly, I say "Let it be". It's no big deal. We all make mistakes.

Personally, I found the article to be VERY correct! If the businesses are "BANNED" from selling alcohol for a period of time, then once the ban is lifted, they are then able to sell, again, to minors. During a ban, they can sell to nobody.

He gets PAID to write and omeone else gets PAID to be sure it is right. But I guess you're right the Globe has always been a hack rag anyway so if you don't expect better you aren't dissappointed.

I agree, everyone makes mistakes. I could understand getting upset if it was over something really important/life threatning etc, but it wasn't. At least he owned up to it!! I also seen the correction in todays paper.

Eric accepted responsibility even though the proof-reader is the one assigned with the task of correcting mistakes. You could say he took credit for someone else's mistake. Stand up guy, I would say.
