DC's bankrupt mayor..

'Spending more than you're making' doesn't work well in the private sector but mayhaps it's good practice when aspiring to get in control of public monies where it's done for real.

Bankruptcy/bank robbery and increased taxation always involve someone else paying...

My personel feelings bout this whole thing is, yes Bankruptcy is public information, but I don't believe there should be a public hanging on this man in the News Media. The only reason it is in the Media is he is the Mayor.

I do not know this man personally, and I don't know the circumstances behind this, but can tell you that I had to file because of an EVIL EX WIFE. And yes it is embarrasing to file, but uncontrolled situations can force these kind of things.

So before you all critisize this man for what he did, remember that maybe, just maybe he was a victim of fraud also. To me it doesn't matter if the man is the Mayor or not, I will not critisize him without the facts. Thanks.

P.S. I did not go on a wild shopping spree before filing.

We aren't advocating a "lynching" here - gee go back and read his quotes. He admits that he put a "sterotype" on folks who filed in the past. This is harmless BS...... By his own admission he has probably said the same thing about others.....so I don't feel guilty CoolDad....... I understand your point of view but trust me I couldn't afford to file when I needed to. Do I feel bad that others file and seem to do better than before and repair their credit long before anyone else?........Kinda...... In this country filing is a luxery not all of us can afford. So since I have learned to live within my means so to speak - I doubt if I'm gonna feel too sorry for them too soon.......Hey - but that doesn't mean your thoughts are not important to me........ I'll try to be gentler and kinder in my lack of sorrow for this fella........
