Dodge Globe

Was it just me not understanding or reading it wrong or did the Globe post two stories with pretty much the same information pertaining to the minimum wage increase? One was front page and one was in the business section. They had a lot of the same information. Was this done to just fill the paper?

That's about like the story that was printed the other day about the middle school 7th Grade "A" team beating Sacred Heart 47-0. What wasn't printed was that it was Sacred Heart "C" team.

Glad to have you on Dodgeboard, duece91! You may know the answer to this....if I heard right, the Sacred Heart "A" team won their game against the middle school. Is that correct?

Thanks for noticing my first post. I was hoping it was going to go unnoticed. But, I should have known better, you guys are on top of things around here! Going back to the question at hand, that is correct. SHCS did win the A vs. A match. I believe they tried to get that published by the Globe, but it wasn't. Oh well...I guess like AOO brought to our attention, they would much rather publish a similar storyline twice.

So do you think it was an oversight or do you think the sports people/person at the Globe has a biased against SH? Just curious because this is something I know nothing about...like most subjects..

I don't think it is the globe, they would have to work to report the story. They would rather just print what is sent to them. I am 99.8% sure that this was sent to the globe by the middle school and the globe printed it as recieved without any fact finding or reporting.

I'm going to give the Globe the benefit of the doubt and say that it was an oversight. At least that's what I hope it was. I would hope that all children in sports, or any after school activity, would be represented equally (whether 443 or SHCS) in the community newspaper. But I do know that some sports stats aren't reported for days, even a week, afterwards. I think the real crime lies with our middle school. But that's another thread for another time. (Sorry for the near repeat, Bubba. I didn't see yours until I posted mine.)

Maybe the same story is sent in by 2 entities with a slightly different slant.............. which one would you print? I would print both if I had the space and hope I pleased everyone! Honestly..............
