Flying-J & making a gas war

Flying-J is a huge AND COMPETITIVE fuel and truck stop company. They recently bought the truck stop at the east side of Dodge and began selling their fuel at competitive prices. SUDDENLY the gas price dropped a dime all over town.

It's my understanding that Flying-J isn't using the entrenched bulk supplier that's here in Dodge. If you want to perpetuate the gas war, then begin buying your gas at the Flying-J. The net effect will bring even lower prices from the Dodge bulk dealer because his ongoing quota will begin to exceed his deliveries; forcing him to reduce his price to the other gas stations.

It's an elastic chain but we will eventually see even more competitive prices by buying from the new bulk company; causing the old bulk dealer to either sell it, or swim in it..

Same with the Sinclair/Fuel Center 24 on North Central. He doesn't get his gas from the local bulk dealer. He also doesn't post his prices for all to see. I know the other day when gas was 1.99 at Kwik Shop the Sinclair pumps were at 1.95!

When I am traveling, I always prefer to stop at a Flying J. Their gas prices are usually the lowest around regardless of the community. the stores usually clean and the service staff are actually helpful. In Indianapolis this morning, the Flying J off I-465 was 13 cents per gallon less than the stores I passed on my way to the freeway.

Wow! Went driving around this afternoon, 1.99 at both Kwik Shops, 1.91 at Loves on E.Earp, the Sinclair I was bragging about earlier raised their price to 2.05(they must not fully understand how a gas war works), and the Flying J Truck Stop is at.......1.85!!

I always wonder about the gas station on Central between the quickshop and Sinclair..his prices are ALWAYS higher than everyone else's. I think the guy that owns it is from Jetmore. Maybe you get full service with his price's. I also note that I never see a line for gas there...may have some connection...lol
