I heard he got into some 4160 volt wire when he fell and tried to grab something on the way down. He grabbed the 4160 with one hand and some railing with another, the voltage went through his body and he fell the rest of the way to the floor. His heart stopped several times. I also heard that he had to have one arm and one hand amputated.

He worked for Stover Electric. But, you should know that Stover Electric works exclusively at National Beef, from what I have heard.

Contractor injured in accident at National Beef
From Staff Reports

An outside electrical contractor was injured in an accident Sunday at National Beef's Dodge City plant, 2000 E. Trail St.
The contractor was taken to a Wichita-area hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition, the company said in a statement

e-mailed to the Globe Monday afternoon. The statement did not include the name of the victim or additional details of the accident.

The company said it is currently conducting an internal investigation of the accident and will cooperate fully with authorities if an outside agency launches an investigation.

The Kansas City, Mo.-based company is the nation's fourth-largest beef processor, with sales exceeding $4 billion annually. Its U.S. operations include plants in Liberal and Dodge City; Brawley, Calif.; Hummels Wharf, Pa.; Moultrie, Ga.; and Kansas City.

I have a question about Stover Electric. If they have a Dodge City office, a Dodge City phone number, and work in Dodge City. Why wouldn't they pay Dodge City property taxes? I noticed that all of their trucks in town have Texas plates on them. That just doesn't seem right to me.

Well, I know a business with offices in both Kansas and Texas. They put Texas tags on the Texas vehicles and Kansas tags on the Kansas vehicles. I guess that just makes them responsible citizens/taxpayers/business owners.

If the office is rented the taxes would be in the landlord’s name.
