Industrial Accident @ National Beef - DodgeBoard.com

I had somebody call me today asking me about the industrial accident at National Beef where a man got burned. I'm not sure if he died or not. I told them that this was the first I had heard about it. I haven't seen anything in the Daily Globe, then why would I, it wasn't a story that was sent to them to print, it would have took actual reporting.

I also haven't seen anything on other news sites. Has anybody else heard of anything?

I heard all the cattle broke free from their holding pens and did a 'running of the bulls' over the parking lot......

The Ford County Attorney is charging them with man slaughter.

If it were a plant accident that didn't jepordize the community wjy would it be newsworthu? I wouldn't want my business and work place misfortune plastered all over the Globe! We have chemical plant fires daily - if it's confined to the plant - there are no sirens no report - I hear the plant sirens alot but no city sirens - therefore no report except at the plant.

Maintenance worker was electrocuted on Sunday morning. Police and EMS personnel were called. He was revived on the way to the hospital and then life-flighted to Wichita. No idea if he survived.

It would be newsworthy because there was a severe injury and maybe perhaps a death to a worker at the plant.

They won't want anybody finding out about it, because it reflects bad on their "safety program"! If it is a serious accident, OSHA will get involved and more information will be forthcoming. I hope it isn't someone that I know from there. Maybe just another "refried bean"------------

You would just run yourself ragged down here Bubba!! If someone got seriously injured down here there would be a blip on the news then you wouldn't hear anything else till the investigation was over and ya might not hear that!...... good thing there is only 2 plants to worry bout up there - the big thing down here is explosions and a serious injury - this thread didn't start out like it was a serious injury - so therefore I was trying to figure out why would the plants report to the news?? That's not normal for any plant - ya otta try livin with the chemical plants - you find out about them when they blow up!
