| I love ya Tex but in this case I think you are allowing your personal feelings about law enforcement cloud common sense. This guy is not in some self issolated hell......if he was he would not be accusing everyone else, or those who criticized him, by trying to justify what was one of the worst cases of "contempt of cop" situations I know of. He was in a chase.......fine, no problem. How did he determine that the vehicle had ONE occupant? He fired 31 shots at a moving vehicle.........why? Did he somehow know this person was that dangerous to others? Was this a fleeing murderer? No, it was a drunk driver. This officer was pissed, pure and simple. He was in a position, like or not, that being pissed is not justification for abusing the power you have as an officer. 3 years without being able to be a police officer is hell? If it were up to me and I was his supervisor this dipshit would not be allowed to even say police officer for the rest of his natural life. He has totally disgraced the uniform and position he held and he got off easy.

| You know me - always the soft heart for the *******s!......... I just figger someone gave him permission. Chases don't happen down here unless thier supervisor knows about it........ ooops that woulda been you! I do know as well as you know that ya often have the "hang out" man. That' is of no suprise to you either. I hate politics but I do know that law enforcement is full of politics. If you think he got off easy - so be it - but I still wonder why no one knew he wasn't in a chase? - perhaps an unauthorized chase at that?. Just seems strange to me. Like where the hell was dispatch? Was he such a prick dispatch refused to talk to him? You know what I'm talkin bout here. - course don't matter much cause what's done is done - but I alwasy think there is more than meets the eye when it comes to this kinda stuff = but there are times when it was just a prick that needs to be workin at Lowes - I know officers don't just usually go off the deep end and become bad overnight - so I'mguessing his hideous performance was well documented and he acted a fool right before you were gonna fire him anyway. I just hate to see any person lose thier livilhood - hell we even allow cons ro re enter socieity and train them to do it - I just don't believe in throwin some folks away - fact is I'de rather throw an inmate away and pay for retraining for this feller............................ just the way I see it............... thanks for the info tho and there have been plenty of times "common sense" was clouded - the sun's gonna shine tomorrow!!!

| We don’t need a prick like that at Lowe’s where he could go nuts and empty a nail gun at someone.

| I partially agree with you Texie there should have been some back-up or at least the officers for Reno County should have been notified and waiting, but where he really screwed himself is the shots he fired. A car chase is one thing, but firing that many shots at a vehicle during said car chase. There is no excuse for it. He did get off easy and I do agree with you on the fact that he lost his livelyhood which is never good for anybody let alone an officer, but I think he should have taken his punishment and gone on instead of complaining about it like it's everybodys fault but his own.

| Well on that I can agree - I don't like whinners either! Like I said what's done is done - he has to live with it and I'm sure the citezens are glad he's gone. I understand what he did was wrong - I just wonder where was everyone when this went down? An agency is responsible for a rouge cop and should be held accountable as well. There are safe guards in place I'm sure - where were they? To me that's the real issue - hell we know that all of us go a little wierd at times but someone in the agency was aware of what was goin on during the chase I'm sure.

| The guards were in place.... I remember reading that the HutchNews threatened to sue for the records pertaining to the chase..... Oh wait, you were writing about safe guards.... nevermind

| Well it wouldn't be the first time that kinda "plea agreement" was agreed to - when it comes to the upper eshelon (no intent toward you Dutchie) anyone is perishable. Course he did do what he did - but I'm tellin ya I would be surprised if the whole chase wasn't "open mike"............ just my take on it - course I have no sources to quote except bein an old jail nurse workin in the sytem....................

| I hate politics but I do know that law enforcement is full of politics....TexKan Is their any kind of position that doesn't involve "politics"?? By the way, Kingman is probably a very small force, so he could have been the only one on duty. As far as losing his job, no big deal, he can go back to flipping burgers, because tha's probably what he was doing prior to getting on as a "cop"! Alot of these small towns don't have alot of requirements, at least that's my opinion when I get stopped by them----------jokers most of the time!! |

| ;;;;;;;;;;DISCLAIMER;;;;;;;;;; Before the numerous replies from those who know me come in......I am in no way upper eschelon, nor was I. I apologize to ya Tex if I came across as calling you on the carpet, for I wasn't. I know where you are coming from in your reply, I just get heated by this type of behavior. I know, and knew, many law enforcement officers. Most of them are the most honorable and respectable people I know. They take their job, their position and the good and bad that comes with it with dignity and respect. It galls me when someone like this dipstick has the odassity (sic) to even compare themselves to these men and women. He shot at a moving vehicle 31 times. 31 times. I guess he figured 20 shots were not stopping this vehicle, so add 11 more. I do not care in any way, shape, or form why he did this.........he did it and it was wrong on every level. Not only did he fail to stop a vehicle with 31 shots....he didn't even hit the godamn driver. So, not only is his judgement the worst I have witnessed....so is his aim. I guess it just pisses me off when some damn ****nut like this pissant gets to where a badge when so many of my friends and colleagues have to work along side them.
