I see both sides. I really do. That being said...the one statement of the whole thing that makes sense is that political correctness is ruining this country. It is time to be IMPOLITE!(anyone seen Spanglish) at some point we are going to be over-run. We are almost there now. We pay welfare and medicare and any number of educational programs to help out people that don't help US out. There has to be a point where we look out for the people HERE...legally. I totally understand why they want to be here..this is the best place in the world to live..even with all of our short-comings....but sometime or another we are going to have to put our foot down and say enough is enough.

I was referring to immigrants with visas and green cards. If they are here legally, then generally speaking you cannot use their immigrant status to exclude them from a job. There are exceptions depending on the position (USA president = US citizen by right of birth).

To my knowledge there is no law that says not hiring a legal immigrant is discrimination. Problem is, there is no law that says it is not either.

You are correct, if they are here legally you cannot use immagration (where they come from) as a basis to not hire them. That is discrimination. You can, however, use any other reason as long as it is not based on discriminating factors. Like, say, it was Tuesday and you did not hire them because of that.
