| What I have heard is the Brits are disgusted - I haven't gone to read the Brit papers but aren't they fed up with the whole thing isn't that the main reason Blair has such poor approval ratings - the worst ever is what I heard. Now I don't know what the reasoning is - Like I said I think it's alittle of both but never ina million years would I think it was just ONE reason - nawww that's too simple. Perhaps it's just the right move at the right time for alot of reasons - and each side takes the one they like the best and runs with it. I'm guessing they are gonna pay particular attention to the benchmarks after they are gone. If they are good and control is maintained I would look for a real resurgence in the "bring them home" chants.......... cause it will look like leavin is the right thing to do to make Iraqui's stand on thier own.

| The news stated that they are pulling out about 1600 troops in the next few months. The troops are in a somewhat stable area in Southern Iraq and they are just a tiny portion of all the troops on the ground in Iraq so my question is how much will they really be missed? These guys aren't the ones kicking in doors in Falujah and such sooo....I think it's more of a politcal statement by Blair to keep the hounds at bay than anything else.

| Well I think that too - but I'm curious to see what the benchmarks show as far as the Iraqui's ability to maintain law and order. If they weren't gonna be missed so much - perhaps they coulda been helpin where they woulda been missed if gone. I also heard another country is pulling all thier troops - I think the whole damn number was like 450...............geesh!........... forget what country it was. I think that's supposed to be done by August??? It was a blip and I may have missed some but I know they mentioned another country pullin out.

| after britain pulls out it will be just the U.S. Much like with Israel, we will be the only country left in there to do anything. When i speak of israel, i remember my British history professor saying that after all the nations created a jewish state, other nations pulled away and america was left with their hands in a cookie jar. Us supplying the jews with weapons and what not could be one reason why some middle eastern countries don't like us. so in a round about way...us doin this alone is definately a bad thing.

| America was not left with it's "hands in the cookie jar" as your teacher wants to spin it. We, unlike many other countries, honored our commitment to our allies. I could give a flying rat's ass as to why the Middle East does not like us, or France, or any country south of Texas, or any country north of Washinton, or any country connected with the ending of 'peon' in it. They don't like us, but they sure reap the rewards our Nation and our people have given to them. If Britian, the Netherlands, Lithuania or whatever country wants to pull their troops out of Iraq, fine. I hold no ill will towards them because they at least were with us. WE are the controlling country here, WE are the ones putting the most resources into this thing so WE should be the last ones standing. When this is over it is the WORLD that will reap the rewards, and most of that world will spit on us anyway, until they need help. I can live with that, it comes with being the biggest and baddest SOB on the block. What I can't live with is our own people, our own government, selling us out because of politics. There aint a goddamn one of those in office that are willing to do what is right and what is needed without taking a poll first. If we win this thing you can thank the military. If we lose it, blame the politicians for being wussy assed bitches who put themselves, their ideoligies and their careers ahead of everything else.
