Reminds me of a Jesse "the body" Ventura remark
don't remember what news program it was he was being interviewed and he said something to the fact that. It had to be around the time of the martha stewart conviction and what not.

he says "When we lie to the government, like martha stewart did, we go to jail but, when the government lies to us we go to war."

note: this quote isn't exactly how he stated it but it is on point
note2: before someone goes..."ya what's your point." i'll tell you that i have no point but i thought it would be fun to steer this in a direction other than bathroom habits.

I kinda liked your post - I don't have to agree with it to like it. Martha I still feel got shafted - but hey - she's doin fine, Clinton is doin fine, and Scotter will be fine.............. course I felt sorry for Ken Lay as well - it's just hard for me to believe folks are really that evil - I just don't think they are - Charles Manson, Jeffery Dahmer, are evil.

Another side note about the pardons, i wikipedia searched it and came up with some interesting results. Yes, i do know wiki isn't that great of a source, but let's trust it in this case.

List of some people pardoned by Presidents
List of people pardoned by a United States president - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

People Clinton pardoned
List of people pardoned by Bill Clinton - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

People G.H.W. Bush Pardoned
List of people pardoned by George H. W. Bush - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Some of the funny standouts are
Jimmy Hoffa, Armand Hammer, and George Steinbrenner

Libby got stupid, Libby got what he deserves. He should have taken the stand, would have saved his ass but he got scared AND stupid and now has to pay the price for those mistakes.

I just don't think he's gonna really have it so tough and I think Bush will pardon him or the next president will - I just think this stuff is like the Salem Witch hunts - it's not gonna matter much 100 years from now. I don't see her as bein that important but I guess she was.

Now don't go jumpin all over me!!!!.......... I didn't follow this much either. This is just how important I see this as. I think watchin my grandson on his castle in the backyard is more important than if Valarie got fronted out.

It is not about her getting fronted, actually, since no one can say it was a crime.
Libby LYING about things in front of a Grand Jury is what this is about, and he did, and he should not have, and he gets what he deserves for being stupid and breaking the law.
It will only matter if the Republicans make excuses for this instead of saying just what I said. It does not matter what anybody else did before, nor what happened to them when they did, or how people spun it or sided with the person......Libby was in the wrong and thats that.

Anyone think this stinks?

Wednesday, March 07, 2007
By John Gibson

Anybody else think it's curious that a former Washington Post reporter who once worked for and is friends with Bob Woodward, is a neighbor and barbecue guest of Tim Russert, and was a personal friend of virtually every reporter/witness at the Libby trial was actually on the Libby jury?

I think it is truly smelly.

Denis Collins, the juror who was a reporter and friend to all the other reporters covering the trial, is also a published author. In fact his book was about the CIA.

Now I can guarantee you that his publisher is thinking there might be another book in this particular author, and that book might as well be his experiences in the jury room where the Bush administration was convicted of lying about the Iraq war and how we got into it. I know that wasn't the charge exactly, but that is precisely what every leftist, liberal and Democrat thinks the trial proved.

What is the difference in value of a book about the inside of the Libby jury if the verdict is guilty as opposed to the value of a book about the inside of the Libby jury if the verdict is not guilty? I've published two of these non-fiction books — meaning I've dealt with agents and publishers twice on a book deal — and my guess is the difference between an inside-the-jury book if the verdict is guilty or if the verdict is not guilty is at least half a million dollars. At least.

Does Mr. Collins expect to be writing a book? Well, as of this morning he had posted a seven-page tale of his jury duty on The Huffington Post, which indicates to me he's been writing already. After all, he spent all last night on television being interviewed.

By the way, Collins writing for The Huffington Post also indicates the left in this country got one of its team on the Libby jury.

Now as to the main question — since we can safely assume that a book based on a guilty verdict is way, way more valuable than a book based on a not guilty verdict — is it fair to ask if this jury deliberation was itself fair? If somebody in the room has a financial interest in the outcome, should the verdict stand?

Guilty sells books. Not guilty is just another day at the courthouse.

That castle is more important than if he lied too......... good lord the bottom line is................ it's not that important........ hell they need to put most politicians on trial for that........ I know we are not the court system and I know what you are sayin Dutchie.......... Ya don't lie to the courts........ perjury is perjury........ He'll get pardoned and all will be well. I won't be upset bout the pardon either....... it will cost less tax money than this circus did.
