| My parents were asked to take me OUT of Catholic School in Second grade. I guess they decided there was nothing they could do for me. The problem with vouchers is that they are taking public money and using it to pay for their religious education. if the churches start paying taxes then maybe this wouldn't be all bad.

| I think fearing what you don't understand is just ignorance. The same goes for the fight against gay marriage. Those people are just ignorant and that's the bottom line.

| Don't really need vouchers for Sacred Heart. They lower income people get what are called "scholarships," they aren't scholarships, it is actually financial aid, but the local church doesn't want to call it that, they prefer the word scholarship.

I’ve never seen a voucher proposal that allowed 100% of the funds per student. Usually it’s like 80% or so. If a student leaves on a voucher it leaves more funds for the remaining students. How many public schools don’t claim to need more money and smaller class sizes? About this “public monies” business. Those monies were private until the government confiscated them. Those monies came from church going folks and non-church going folks alike. No one is forced to take a voucher and if they do they aren’t forced to send the kid to a religious school or even a specific religious school. Any school that offers a high school diploma approved by the state qualifies. So vouchers in no way establish any kind of state religion. It does however aid parents in exercising some freedom of choice with their children’s education.

| This is just absurd. How can a students choice to put a statement like "Following the path of Christ" with their yearbook picture offensive? It's no more offensive than the choice to put "Ford Rules" Does this offend the Chevy and Mopar people and so not allowed? Paranoia of religion is the real problem, and a lack of knowledge breeds paranoia, and people tend to pass that paranoia on. Often we see so called "educated people" passing on that religious paranoia in the form of misleading historical events like the "holy wars." The habit of using radicals to support that paranoia is clearly a sign of a lack of knowledge on the subject. Clovus(sp), for example, is often used to support the claim of Christians killing in the name of Christianity. Truth is Clovus(sp) was a Pagan barbarian who led his followers during the dark ages on a killing spree. People like him killed innocent people in the conquest of riches, land and dominance. But history does not see him as killing in the name of Paganism. It's not until he converts to Christianity that he now gets called just another Christian killing in the name of Christianity. Spreading hate and intolerance for religion in public schools is no different than spreading hate and intolerance for race.

| I love history too. It's sad that the hate/fear of religion is being taught in schools by people who know the truth, but choose not to teach it. These people were killing and pillaging in the name of their god before they called themselves Christians. When Christianity swept across the world many people called themselves Christians but didn't live up to the title. Just because you call yourself a Christian doesn't make it so. Although history seems to be happy to tag any mass murderer calling themselves a Christan as a holy warrior. If Charles Manson were to covert to Christianity I have no doubt history would portray him as another killer in Christs name. Or at least thats what would be excepted in school history. A true Christian cannot kill. Just because someone claims to be killing in the name of God doesn't make it fact either.

| I’m a long way from being a good Christian but I make the distinction between murder and self-defense. There also seems to be some debate among the experts about the translation from the original Hebrew on that Commandment.
