Missing Child

Im wondering if this child abduction is a family thing or strangers. Im guessing since they have names of the adults it is family related. Anybody have any news??

Amber Alert cancelled for 5 Year Old Kansas Girl

The KBI cancelled the Amber Alert after the child was recovered safe. The female is taken in to custody, and the male is still at large. Click for map of Dodge City, Kansas

Jasmine Maestas, 5 year old white female. She is 3 feet 5 inches tall, and 62 pounds. She was last seen wearing purple sweatshirt and sweatpants, white slip-on shoes, polkadot panties, abducted from 1311 Colorado Dr, Dodge City, KS.

Suspected in this abduction is Hector Mendoza. He is a white male, 25 years of age, 5 foot 9 inches tall, 185 pounds, black hair. There is also a white female, Erica Dietz, 20 years of age, 5 foot 9 inches tall.

Suspects are believed to be driving a 2000 4 door, Brown Chevy Impala, with Kansas tags XAN126.

Call 911 or the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME if you see the suspects, vehicle or child.


I'm pretty sure this is the same guy I was told was recently arrested, bailed out, got his bail revoked and got out again prior to this happening. Not sure what he was in jail for....bad checks comes to mind though.

Interesting.. They never said what the relationship was, only that she was taken from Colorado Dr. in Dodge City. Real nice of the "dad" to let the " girlfriend" take the rap while he continues to run. Very sad situation. Im just really glad the little girl was found and taken back to her family.

I don't know them, but, Hector Mendoza doesn't exactly sound like the name of a white male. Sounds more to me like a hispanic male. I also saw the picture of the little girl on the Dodge Globe website, she isn't what I would call a 5 yr old white female. I would say that hispanic female would be a more accurate description. I would think that if they put out an Amber Alert for white suspects, and a white girl, many people wouldn't look twice at a hispanic with a hispanic child because the alert has you looking for white. I think the Amber Alert allowed them to get farther away than they should have if they would have used proper descriptions.

On our applications in the Army people of hispanic decent are classified as CAUCASION and the Hispanic Decent is checked.
