Lingerie Store Window Has Live Models



AUGUSTA, Maine - In this town, window shopping is attracting a lot more guys than usual. A lingerie store called Spellbound is grabbing attention with live models in the window. Some people have complained, but police say there is nothing illegal about the lingerie models.
"It's tainting the wholesome businesses down here," said Carrie Rossignol, co-owner of Video Game Exchange. "I think it's selfish, and I think it's morally reprehensible."

Another downtown merchant likes the idea, saying the models are attracting more potential customers to the area.

"It's like a New York thing. It's urban. It's edgy," said Stacy Gervais, owner of Stacy's Hallmark Store and a founder of a downtown merchants group. "We need a shtick — something that we do that attracts people and gets us remembered."

Spellbound owner Felicia Stockford said she has had no trouble finding staffers. She said the young women enjoy strutting their stuff in the shop window.

Hell you can get the latest lingerie with live models at ANY "gentlemans club" if ya need it - I hope they are tasteful - it's not ALL adults downtown ya know..........I'm not conviced "live" models is such a good idea. I don't think all that needs to be "up in your face" duing the holidays or any days to be honest. I think it's a good marketing ploy but ya gotta listen to the customer - the buying power is with the women (even if they often are spending the mens' money)........not sure how a lot of women in Maine might feel about this........might offend some.

Yeah TK, but those live models cost a "helluva lot more"!!

I can just picture this lady giving the interview right in front of a display for "Grand Theft Auto" in her store.

What would you rather have? Grown-ups in nighties or your 8 year old killing cops in a video game. Depends on you definition of "morally reprehensible."

One is reality, one is entertainment. I think the only entertainment here is for the overly charged hormones of the males too cheap to actually pay for the pleasure of viewing like most guys do......... If they have live models for womens lingerie - then bring out the hunks I say.......Course I never understood why they showed women bare chested and avoided the "full monty" on any hollywood hunk in the movies......double standard......I just think leaving "something" to the imagination is a sentious thing......tooo much stuff up in our face nowdays.

Course we are talkin about Maine......not Arkansas........They tend to be alittle more reserved in Maine......that was my point.

I read once that they’ve had live models with lingerie in storefront windows for years in Amsterdam. The difference was they weren’t selling the lingerie.
