And before you claim that he led us into it, I would like to point out that Al-Q led us into it, on Sep 11 2001. So stop acting like he is just some guy who woke up one day and said I'm president, do what I say. We elected him. Ain't democracy grand?!
Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, and there were no terrorists in Iraq while Saddam was there, he wouldn't allow it. The terrorists didn't enter Iraq until after we got rid of Saddam. The terrorists are using Iraq as a training ground for their people and their tacticts. They are finding out what works and what doesn't so that they can be better terrorists throughout the rest of the world.

The only war that the U.S. should have ever been involved in was in Afghanistan, hunting down Osama. Now, with all the problems in Iraq we have lost sight of our first true mission of hunting down the people responsible for 9/11. Our military is spread too thin policing up Iraq to effectively hunt down the enemy in Afghanistan.

As far as electing the president, in the 2000 election Bush wasn't elected by the popular vote. The people of the U.S. elected Al Gore, it was the electoral college vote that won Bush that office.

I'm so disgusted with all politicians...

The R's and the D's.... while our troops are having to do two and three and four tours in that TWILIGHT ZONE..something ain't right...

I'm wondering if Kodiak's son ...now that he is healed ....will he have to deploy again???? God bless him ...and all that survive just one tour in hell and come home to re-coop and then possibly go back......ARGGGGGGGGGG.....

The Dem's were supposed to go in and do this BIG CHANGE and no more status quo..then what do they do ....present a bill...with so much PORK that you can almost smell pig s*it in the air......How can you mix that in with the BILL for Troop support... ?????????????????? WTF knowing full well that a veto is coming ...ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

NO MATTER WHO STARTED THIS OR WHO IS RIGHT OR WRONG...its easy to look back and find all the mistakes that were made....just as it is easy to read the history books and see the mistakes of any stinking war...

No ...before you ask.... I don't know the answers.... or the questions for that matter....

IMHO....there is no shame or a lack of courage for a battle field retreat...Its only smart to re-group....build up your military force... pour alot of money into it ...for troops and equipment... and be the meanest baddest GOOD GUYS on the face of the earth again...WE ARE THE GOOD GUYS you know...we hate to see any nation suffer because of their leadership....but we need to make sure that our troops are not worn out and used up..

From the looks of it ...we will be in a military campaign...somewhere.... well passed my demise....so sad that peace is but an illusion (sigh)

SGT T.... I hope and pray that your tour will be safe....

ya know, I sit and watch this war argued both ways so often. I don't usually chime in, but every now and then it gets my dander up, then I have to weigh in. Dubya (or dumbya as you so love to call him) did not declare this war on his own. If it was bad intel or not, there were others right behind him. Including some dems. Now that it hasn't gone so well and our sons and daughters are coming home in pieces and some not at all, the dems are wanting to back away from their earlier decisions. All I can say is, "not so fast, dems"....a declaration of war isn't one that is popular and surely shouldn't be entered into lightly. I liken it to a marriage. You don't just pop in and pop out according to what your wishes that day are. You see it through to the ugly end.

About Iraq and Saddam. Saddam says he didn't allow insurgents? Since when did his word mean anything to us? Iraq may not have been handing money or arms to the enemy above the table, but I believe in my heart of hearts they were supporting the insurgents. Believe what you want and shout it from the rooftops, but remember that the soldier you are not supporting will be the next casualty and he/she may be someone near and dear to you. OK, off my soapbox for now again.

Ain't many of any of em "oath" worthy......... I say move on deal with the issues at hand and quit tryin to knock off the other guys. This is the kind of thing they "swore" not to do when they took thier oath! It's like watchin school kids on the school yard in the 50's. It's pathetic and they should all be ashamed of themselves.

Some things in life are "oath" worthy........ and "oath" required - this isn't one of them.

If you're askin' me, Wordie, of course I'd swear to it under oath. But what good is it? It's only one man's (woman's) opinion. It wouldn't make any difference in the big picture - but it sure would be nice.....
