| I'm on the donor's list and actually got a call once as a potential donor. All they would tell me was that it was for a 10 year old girl. I was ready to do it but they found a better match. It's better if the dontation is anonymous.

| for you maybe the donation is better if it is anonymous, but i'd rather give somethin of mine to family than to anyone else...prolly a better fit for them than some stranger anyway.

| I would do it for the kids alone.

| I'm a little vague on the details, but does anyone remember the news story (within the last couple years) of the man serving life in prison who'd donated a kidney to his daughter? The daughter didn't take her anti-rejection medication the way she should have, and the kidney was rejected. Her father then wanted to donate his last remaining kidney to the daughter - meaning that he'd be on dialysis for the rest of his life at tremendous cost to the prison system. |

| I don't remember that one but I do remember the schmuck that promised a kidney, got out, then ran off with his lover..........what ever happenend to him? Kidneys are surgery - bone marrow is aspiration - sure I hear it hurts but not like removing a kidney - I don't think it's the pain that's holdeing her back. He should explore his kids - 1/2 match of kids is better than half match of stranger

| I haven't spoke to my younger sister in years, my choosing, and could go the rest of my life without doing so. Even though we have a very strained relationship I would still donate marrow or go under the knife if she needed it and I could help. Afterwards I would still have nothing to say to her. I love my nephews too much and they shouldn't lose their mother just because we can't get along. There might be more behind this story, but I would concur that she is a bitch. ![]() |

| Maybe she knows she's really not related to him!! HLA typing isn't shared with the reciepient. It could be that since he knows her as his sister that he's figguring she's the same as him. which isn't always so. I didn't see anything saying what the sister said or what the Dr. said - ya think perhaps this is a little too one sided story?
