Bush impeachment an option

Quote:
WASHINGTON - With his go-it-alone approach on Iraq, President Bush is flouting Congress and the public, so angering lawmakers that some consider impeachment an option over his war policy, a senator from Bush’s own party said Sunday......
This from a Republican Senator!!

Typical media misleading. They make it sound like Hagel himself suggested impeachment when it looks too me as if he was only saying some Dem's were talking impeachment. Surprise surprise!

Quote:
Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and a frequent critic of the war, stopped short of calling for Bush’s impeachment. But he made clear that some lawmakers viewed that as an option should Bush choose to push ahead despite public sentiment against the war.

Maybe our word smith will tell us what these words mean.....

Quote:
“Any president who says, I don’t care, or I will not respond to what the people of this country are saying about Iraq or anything else, or I don’t care what the Congress does, I am going to proceed — if a president really believes that, then there are — what I was pointing out, there are ways to deal with that,” said Hagel, who is considering a 2008 presidential run.

.................................................. ...................

In the April edition of Esquire magazine, Hagel described Bush as someone who doesn’t believe he’s accountable to anyone. “He’s not accountable anymore, which isn’t totally true. You can impeach him, and before this is over, you might see calls for his impeachment. I don’t know. It depends on how this goes,” Hagel told the magazine.

The LAST thing I want to see at this point is W impeached. Right now he's making it harder and harder for people to vote for Republicans.

And that's a good thing. Maybe Chuck sees that too.

I wouldn't want W. impeached for the simple reason that I wouldn't want Cheney to be Pres.

If you vote for the person and not the party............. who cares anyhow? I'm surprised that someone actually still votes party ticket - it's like turnin a trick for free............ just stupid! So for most of us what GW does or doesn't do isn't gonna make anyone turn into one party or the other. It's on GW's shoulders and his presidency. I haven't seen the democrats doin such great things lately either - they are all actin like clowns at Barnum and Bailey.

To impeach doesn't necessarily mean he would be removed from office. Bill Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998 by the House of representatives on grounds of perjury to a grand jury (by a 228–206 vote) and obstruction of justice (by a 221–212 vote). Two other articles of impeachment failed—a second count of perjury in the Jones case (by a 205–229 vote), and one accusing President Clinton of abuse of power (by a 148–285 vote). He was acquitted by the Senate.

Can anyone say that Liberalism is not a slow way of bleeding this country to death? Think about the House & Senate being really behind our counties efforts, just what we could accomplish. Few of our policitians have the guts to fix the problem, it is not cut and run.
