It's depends on how you ask the ? in the poll. 1/2 the country is going to say pull out just because they hate Bush. I believe MOST AMERICANS and some Liberals want the U.S. to win. If you asked the question about pulling out and put it in the terms of victory I'm sure it would be different. The media does the polls to prove their point and get the results they want.

For example I am in favor of pulling the troops out of Iraq...absolutely..>BUT not until that place can stand on it's own and everything we have done and everything soldiers have died for will go to waste. Furthermore if we leave and accept a stalemate it will give our country and our military a black eye and put wind in the terrorists sails. It will tell them that we don't have the heart and soul to fight the fight that needs to be fought. THEN when they kill another 3000 people on our soil what do we do?

We can't "win" if we don't go in there to "win"!! Just like in Vietnam (which I am very familiar with)!! If they want to win, then we need to quit the PC bullsheet, and GO IN THERE TO WIN!!

Pork is a problem under any Congress. This one promised to put an end to it a few months ago. It’s tacked on to the ill because they had to bribe a few Congressmen with our money in order to get this bill passed. It wouldn’t stand on its own.

And then what? Throw him in prison and give the enemy something to rally about? Or execute him and make him a martyr? If we pull out before giving the right people control we could well pay for it on our own shores in our own blood.

Winning the war isn't to defeat the enemy but to walk away without having to look back over our shoulders.

If we leave Iraq for the terrorists they will use it for a base and use the oil money to finance their war against us.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news. People die, whether we want them to or not. Death by violence is just a means to an end. Either way, we can rarely choose when we go. End result? Just the same.

For what it's worth, another poll last night showing 59% of the American people want a timeline for withdrawal from Iraq........

We use gallop polling at my place of business all the time to measure performance, satisfaction, etc......

I would certainly hope that all the work that comes as a result of the poll results means something; like that we need to make changes, make improvements, etc.

I don't think all poll results are inaccurate........I think people believe what they want to believe; if you are in favor of continuing in Iraq, the current poll results are "skewed"........If you want out of Iraq, the current poll results are "accurate".........We believe results that support our position.....Plain and simple.

Do I want our troops out of Iraq? Absolutely!

Do I want them out before they have done an adequate job in getting the Iraqi government started? Absolutely NOT!

Do I think there is a learning curve, sabatage, corruption in the existing Iraqi government? Yup! And because of this, there will be more time invested.

Sampling Error

One trouble with polls is most folks get their opinions from media reports. There have been a lot of complaints about the media selectively reporting the bad stuff and not reporting the good things that go on. Their opinion becomes biased in the direction that they are programmed to think by biased media.
