You fail to mention in your post that the ban is upheld only on partial-birth abortion procedure. Not all abortion procedures.

It's all about baby steps. I'll take a win for our side, no matter how small. Life is too precious to destroy.

American Chronicle: William Bennett: Abort Black Babies To Reduce Crime

William Bennett, a prominent conservative commentator and former Education Secretary in the Reagan administration, is under fire for making a patently racist comment.

Bennett opined on his "Morning in America" show, "But I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could, if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down". He added that this would be "an impossible, ridiculous and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down."

The only thing that irks me about the whole abortion controversy is the legal system. I'm not going to state what my opinion is regarding abortion but when it comes to the law, there needs to be some stability. I can understand there being changes to rulings at the trial and appelate level, but when it comes to the supreme court, what ever happened to stare decisis? I have been reading a lot about how abortion opponents are optimistic that the now conservative bench will do away with abortion, yet Roe v. Wade (decided by supreme court), already made the decision. This constant swinging of decisions is exactly why the United States has the highest amount of litigation. It is because of the constant inability for the court to make up their minds!

Justices uphold ban on abortion procedure - CNN.com

Quote:
The sharply divided 5-4 ruling could prove historic. It sends a possible signal of the court's willingness, under Chief Justice John Roberts, to someday revisit the basic right to abortion guaranteed in the 1973 Roe v. Wade case.
Quote:
In a bitter dissent read from the bench, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the only woman on the high court, said the majority's opinion "cannot be understood as anything other than an effort to chip away a right declared again and again by this court, and with increasing comprehension of its centrality to women's lives."

This hopefully start leading to the argument of when life begins. I believe many people keep lying to themselves while really knowing the truth.

Partial birth abortions hits a little close to home with some people, as it contains the word "birth". Many legal experts know that semantics are everything. If life begins at birth, then partial birth abortions can be considered murder??

Yes, this is a win for opponents to abortion.

Who Wants to Abort Black Babies? It Ain't Bill Bennett by Steve Bowers
It was in response to a caller who mentioned the book Freakonomics by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner which asserts, among other things, that the advent of "safe and legal" abortions in the mid-seventies may have had the effect of lowering the crime rate. Bennett was, as Rush Limbaugh likes to say, demonstrating absurdity by being absurd; and his comment was meant to demonstrate just how repugnant this bigoted notion is -- it's a racist, classist idea that only the racist, classist bigots of the left could come up with.

I will add:

Also it is well known that Margaret Sanger was a member of the KKK and set up abortion mills inside of Harlem and created Planned Parenthood to eradicate blacks from America. Abortion is as evil as they come.

You might as well point out the Sanger-Hitler connection while you’re at it.

Lizard, do you think left-wingers have any clue about reality?

Where did you get this? Blackgenocide.org, there would be an unbiased source of info....

For your information here clinic was opened in 1916 in Brooklyn, NOT HARLEM. It educated people on and promoted the use of contraceptives, NOT ABORTION.

Also, I found this info
Quote:
In 1926, in what she called "one of the weirdest experiences I had in lecturing", Sanger even gave a lecture on birth control to the women's auxiliary of the Ku Klux Klan in Silver Lake, New Jersey, a group she found so ignorant she had to use only "the most elementary terms, as though I were trying to make children understand."
But, I found nothing close to suggesting that she was ever a member of the KKK.

PS. Thank you for bringing up the info on Margaret Sanger. I had never heard of her, but your claims sounded so ridiculous that I had to do some quick research on her.
