Woman Who Married Boy Indicted

GAINESVILLE, Georgia (AP) -- A 37-year-old woman who married a 15-year-old boy was indicted Tuesday on charges of child molestation, statutory rape and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Lisa Lynette Clark, who says she is pregnant with the teenager's child, was arrested earlier this month after their November 8 wedding.

She has been ordered not to come within 100 feet of the boy.

Georgia law allows children of any age to marry -- without parental consent -- if the bride-to-be is pregnant. The law dates back to the early 1960s and was written to prevent out-of-wedlock births.

Last week, a judge ruled that the teenager, who skipped school to get married, violated his probation on a previous burglary charge.

The judge ordered the boy not to have contact with Clark.

The child was ordered to remain on probation and could not return home with grandmother Judy Hayles, who was his former guardian.

Hayles filed a police report on October 6 when she learned from a friend that Clark was pregnant.

What the hell is this world coming to when a 15 year old boy has to skip school to mary a 37 year old women. I takes a village to raise a child, in this case I think they left it up to the village idiot.

I think a lot of this just goes to show that women can be just as much a perv as men. It's redefining gender roles in our society.

Remember this is GEORGIA........I believe that this boy isn't going to be the prosecutors witness. and I'm not sure if they can even use him. The hitch here is gonna be "married and pregnant".......I think she has this one "bundled up" so to speak.. Sure are a lot of sick women out there......where the hell are all the men?????

They're there. It's just that the women doing it haven't been widely reported on and it's a stereotypically male behavior so women are now getting more coverage.

Nawww most of the men don't marry the girl.......there are so many "my baba's daddy" out there that the women can't keep em straight. At least this chick married what she screwed with.......even if it was for defense purposses only. I don't think a man can testify against his wife in Georgia.

It may be nasty and it might not stand up to any rational thinking, but the law is the law. They're legally married, whether ma likes it or not. Maybe this will help the lawmakers see that they need to change an archaic law.

Many time this day and age that's what it takes. Something has to happen to open people's eyes. And laws are changed.

Well I wish them luck I really do but I think they are still gonna have to be dealin with "hostile" witnesses IF they can even use this kid in court.
