If the Chief called in the KBI it would be for assistance in collecting evidence or to take over the investigation. If a current DCPD employee is dating the victim, of course, you are going to call in an outside agency to investigate. It would not matter if they thought this employee did the murder or they knew the employee was in another place at the time of the crime. The appearance of something fishy is what the Chief is trying to avoid.

Now, if the employee is found to be involved with the crime, would you want the PD looking at one of thier own? Of course not.

If the employee is clean, then you have a lifetime of nameless faces on this site saying the DCPD protects it's own even in homicides.

Be happy the Chief had the b-lls to call in the KBI, he did the right thing. It does not make the PD a happy place to work when ya have other cops in your house looking at one of your own, but this is the days we live in.

However this turns out, we should be thankful the DCPD is still out on the streets of not only DCK but Greensburg, everyday protecting and serving, no matter what one employee may or may not have done

Hey Fam how are ya! You said it well....Like I tell clients, it doesn't matter how much money you have, what you do for a living, being a judge, LEO, ect....everyone is human and things do happen in every place. I just hope they find who did this. Very sad.

Has anybody heard anything else? I know the funeral is tomorrow, according to the Globe. Also, did she ever work at the Speedy Stop? She looks like a girl that used to work there, unless it was her, maybe a couple of years ago?

Everyone needs to calm down. I mean does it really matter that profession this person does for a living? Someone name one profession that hasn't been involved in this type of situation. I doubt that you would be able to name one. If this person is guilty then I am sure that the KBI will do what is right. If the DCPD was doing the invetigation then I am sure they would do what was right as well.

Everyone needs to take a step back and take a deep breath, then wait and see what the evidence says.

Like it or not Inocent until proven guilty is the rule in this country. At least in most areas.

Just seems like a larger number than it should be for that age group in a small town.

Was there some kind of carful of kids getting killed in a wreck incident or something way back then?

You know Mac Daddy I have something to say, I just can't resist. Along time ago I was accused for something I did not do. I was asked to take a polygraph test; however, I refused. why did I refuse? Because I told the officers that the girl who was accusing me was lying and I asked them to give her a polygraph test. Well I was arrested, thrown in jail and treated like shit. Not all the jailers treated me that way, but this one was a real *******. I went to court and asked for a own recoginance bond; since I have lived in DC all my life and wasn't going to go nowhere; well I was denied and bond was set at $7500.00. After 4 days in jail, $750.00 to bond out, and totally humiliated by a ****ing jailer, needless to say I was not happy. The girl who accused me went to the DA and told the truth that the whole situation was a lie and she was coersed into doing the whole thing by other people. Charges were dismissed. Ok now did I receive back my $750.00? NO Is this incident still on my record even though the charges were dismissed? YES. Did she get charged for lying? NO. Can you say WTF??? I was basically arrested just for what people said I did that I didn't do. Innocent until proven guilty??? I don't think so! Give me a damn break will ya! What about all those people's names in the paper for crimes they were arrested for? Innocent until proven guilty? Hmmmmm What a ****ing joke. If that was me I would be behind bars as I type and that is the truth.

Oh and one more thing....Miss Kitty I am so sick of your Sauer bashing I could puke. I like the guy and I don't even know him...Why? I will tell you why; Sounds like he tries to be fair in all situations and doesn't let someone's VIP status intimidate him. THAT'S WHAT I LIKE ABOUT HIM!

Ok I am done ranting....carry on.

I've never understood the claim innocent until proved guilty. That not the way I've ever seen it done. If you get a ticket you must go to court and prove your innocents or you're guilty. If you get accused of something the burden is on you to prove your innocent, otherwise you're assumed guilty.

Many years ago I was arrested for battery simply because I my pickup was one of the colors described by the victim and I was in the general vicinity. This was a big city not dodge. It was very humiliating but all through the process I was thinking I'm innocent so nothing to worry about.

In handcuffs I was taken in front of the victim to identify me and I heard the victim telling the arresting officer they didn't think it was me but the officer told them I had already been arrested because they had told them it was me. Obviously the officer was tell the victim it was too late to change their mind.

I spent the night in jail still thinking this was nothing but a mistake and that soon my innocents would come out. The next day when I met with the prosecutor? I was told my best bet was to plead guilty unless I had evidence showing my innocents.

Innocent until proved guilty my ass!

Dear pootsy

I am sorry that the criminal justice let you down. Unfortunately, sometimes, lots of times, this world sucks and unfair things happen to innocent people. Believe me, I know how it feels. I'm not a lawyer or anything, but it sounds like you have a case against the girl who falsely accused you.

As for what you thought was Sauer bashing, all I said in this thread was "I think it was John Sauer who chose not to prosecute that case." I was just stating what I thought was a fact, trying to correct some misinformation. Sorry you took it wrong.

Thank you for saying not all jailers treated you bad. I know some and they are decent people doing a sucky job, but like all jobs, it just takes one bad one to unfairly give the others a bad name. It's easy for us to see one Mary Kay Letourneau and think all teachers are child moesters. Or that all Mexicans who work at a beef plant are illegal. I think it's human nature to label people. I don't know if this cop is guilty or innocent, but I hope I don't start thinking that all cops are guilty just because they wear a badge.

Innocent until proved guilty my ass!
That’s the way I was treated back in ’02 when I was the victim of ID theft /check fraud. A DA’s office told me to pay for checks that I didn’t write and take their “financial responsibility” class at my expense or face criminal charges and an expensive trial defending myself. I successfully avoided both after teaching their “fraud expert” a few things about identifying forged checks. Those people were guilty of being too lazy to do their homework.

Innocent until proved guilty my ass!
