EXACTLY!!

Running a newspaper in a small town is no easy task. It's a balancing act. You can't bite the hand that feeds you. Of course their will be some local control by those in the know. That's par for the course in the industry. Eric doesn't want to be shut out- he know's where his bread is buttered.

I would like to comment but think it would be wiser to stay out of this discussion after this posting.

Prolly cuz too much local press can work against the prosecution.

My bet is he went on the last "free" ride of his natural life.

He pulled an OJ

I was reminded of OJ, too, Tee. Then I remember OJ was acquitted.

If this guy did what he's accused of, I hope he doesn't follow in OJ's footsteps and walk free from the courthouse.

How often do police officers go through pshycological testing? I would think that with that kind of job, mental health would be somewhat of a priority. I am sure there is always some type of counseling available, but is there anything mandatory? Also, is there mandatory reporting if an officer hears or believes something about another officer?
The DCPD has just suffered a HUGE black eye, I wonder how they will ever recover. I am sure there are many men and women on the department that are in total shock. I would think that if any officer would have known something about this situation, they would have reported it. I would not want to work with someone armed that was a danger to myself or others.
Also, in previous posts about the officers salaries. I believe they knew the wages before the accepted the job. Most are police officers because the love the job. They take pride in helping others. I never knew a rich cop, unless they were dishonest. I hope the men and women of the DCPD continue to wear that uniform with pride.

I too would think that someone knew something... at the very least someone had to have known about his jealousy issuses, or his temper. I do not believe someone that goes and "possibly" does something like this with out some kind of a sign. I also agree with who ever said it earlier... when he ran..he was guilty.

True, I had heard that this guy had some previous complaints on him? Did they do follow up? Like you said mandatory checks? Or did he just receive a slap on the hand?

I knew some stuff but nobody believed me. I kept hearing "he's such a nice guy." He plays in a Christian Band ect ect ect....Yes he use to play in a Christian Rock band when i first met him as well. I was waiting for the day for him to show his true colors; but damn, I didn't think he would take it this far. I feel so sorry for the family and everyone involved. I also kinda feel sorry for his co-workers as well believe it or not. I bet this is a shock.

People need to remember that some people aren't what you think they are. Don't always be so quick to judge someone if they give you some info that you think is just ridiculous, they may be right!

That could bring a wrongful death against the PD if so. The rest just sounds like a crime of passion to me - they never make sense no matter who it is. Have they charged him yet?
