I had heard years ago....(don't ask me where) that the USA has plenty of oil for years and years..... but the prices of crude from overseas is so cheap that it isn't economically feasible for our companies to produce from our own supplies.... so.... there you go....its all about the profits.. if that is true...and I think we can all attest to the greed of oil companies....Billions and Billions of profit.....

I have an idea.... How about all those stock holders that are earning billions of profit....in a free society....DONATE....to the freedom cause and get the equipment that our troops need..... especially that new vehicle (?) that they say will help save our guys from IED's ...Where is their sense of patriotism..they are profiteers , pure and simple...

They take no thought of sending our babies off to a hostile nation to be murdered and maimed....IF THEY FU**ING CARED .... OUR TROOPS WOULD HAVE EVERYTHING THEY NEED AND THEN SOME !!!!!!!! dammit

I caught a blip last week or whenever.... that the wonderful terrorists are now putting human feces in their IED's.....shades of Punji sticks !!!! that cause an infection so serious ...that if you survive the initial blast you will probably succumb to the infection...

Jeezweez, very good point. I was thinking the same thing. Actually, I have that thought a lot when I read AOO's posts, (unbecomming of someone representing the military). Thankfully, I can acknowledge the fact that he does not represent ALL military.

WWII... the last war we WON.... with the help of alot of other countries...and the sacrifices of the civilians on all fronts... Everyone had to do their part ... Rationing of everything...doing without simple pleasures for the war effort...WHAT A GREAT NATION WE WERE..

We were the best , the greatest ever.... but .... you cannot stay on top forever...thats just not gonna happen...Like a top athlete, you are not gonna stay that way...eventually someone will take your throne because of corruption.... You age, as an athlete and the body corrupts..no longer a viable top running machine and there is no fountain of youth to revive it...it just keeps on corrupting until it dies.. disease can speed it along at a faster rate...

As a nation...our disease is Greed and corruption (see George Soros and Rupurt Murdoch only 2 of many) ...and it will kill us ..unless a treatment is discovered ...and real soon..

Back to War...

There is no winnable war anymore....not for any nation ...not in the sense of how we define winning... Those days are long gone...we have to appease the bullys in the schoolyard with our lunch money ... or they will eat our lunch..

In other words.... Nuclear....the enemy that has the big club now or getting the big club ....they want to die ...... Its life's greatest goal for them...so don't think they are worried about our big club

I've got to say, I just don't know about you posting those numbers. I mean, if its to honor the men and women who give their lives in order to protect our freedom to debate world policy and publicly attack the leaders that we, the people elected, then I will say right on. However, if you are using the numbers of my brothers and sisters who paid the ultimate price defending freedom, just to send a political message, then shame on you.

Very few people here give a damn about that little (D) or (R) that appears next to the guy on T.V. when he talks about a war that he has probably never seen. When the rifle is in your hand, and the NVG's are on your face, and the sweat from wearing 80 lbs of gear in 120 degrees is only added onto because you don't know if the boom's you heard were incoming or outgoing, then this entire affair cesses to be a political issue. There is only one thing I know without a shadow of a doubt. There are bad people here in Iraq. They want to destabilize the country, and there are good people here who just want to live without fear. As long as there are the good people who need protection, and the bad people who want to hurt them, there will be a reason for us to be here. Once this nation can take care of itself, and can defend it's own, then we can go home, mission accomplished. Until that happens, well, I've got a job to do.

For anyone to tie up the Government with meaningless debate about non-binding resolutions, and pork barrel bills that have no chance of getting signed into law, is nearly criminal. Americans as a whole like to talk about how much we dislike this or that when it comes to Congress and laws. It's funny how we vote for them, then bash them so hard. If you have a problem with your elected representives, then vote them out. There will always be another scape goat ready for you to elect then bash. Regardless of party.
