This war will last for years...you got that right ...(see 10 tours of duty or 20 )Unless of course new recruits start beating your door down...hows that working for you ?and if you think that if we pull out of iraq we are finished fighting...think again. AOO ... I dont want to battle with you.. I know we have the bravest and the best ....We had the bravest and the best in all the wars we have fought...

I dont know which of our founding fathers said something to the effect(Im too tired right now to look it up) ... If we don't question our governments decisions..then we don't deserve to have a nation....thats not even close to the statement ... but best I can do for now...
There has to be checks and balances ..... and questions asked ...because there is so much smoke blown up our asses ....

The "War on Terror" is just a political bumper sticker phrase. The main reason there is a problem in the Middle East, is because WE are there. Yes, we got rid of Sadaam, and yes he was a bad man, but they have been fighting with each other for eons, and maybe, they needed a bad man in power to keep them under control.

I can only hope that the "War on Terror" goes better than the other bumper sticker war we have been fighting for has gone, you know the one...the "War on Drugs." We've been fighting that ever since Nixon declared the drug problem a "national emergency" in 1971. We all know how well the "War on Drugs" went/is going.

So you think WE are the problem bubba? Do you think if we leave all will be well..? Do you think the Jihadist and extremest that hate America so much will just throw down their weapons and drink tea? What do you think?

You have to realize that the Jihadist hates us because we are in "His" land. Namely Saudi Arabia, that is the sacred land of Mecca, and we are desecrating their sacred places by being there. I'm not saying it would end overnight, there would be their civil war clashes that would continue, but us leaving the area and minding our own business at home to make sure our affairs are in order would go a long way in gaining some respect around the world that we started to lose, to a small extent, when George HW Bush first sent us to Saudi Arabia to invade Iraq but is sorely lacking ever since GW Bush took office. GW has alienated most of the world from America.

Let's not forget that it was the US foreign policy of the past that put us into the situations that we have today, maybe not intentionally, but those past foreign policy decisions had consequences that put us where we are today. First, we back putting the Shaw into power in Iran, now look at what Iran thinks of us. We also backed and supported Sadaam with cash weapons and training when they were at war with Iran, and we know how that ended. Let's not forget that we liked and advised Osama Bin Laden when his fighters were fighting the Russians in Afghanistan, but things turned south with him when we went into Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf war.

I respect you freedom to vote for whoever you want and applaud you for doin some lookin rather than votin party. I don't know much bout Paul - I remember he looked kinda dorky on the debate - but that isn't everything - thanks for the link! I know he's from here - but he's not apparently well known in my circles.

I too saw him on Bill Maher, and was quite surprised to see the welcome he received with applause and cheers, Bill's audience is usually not that receptive to Republicans. Thanks for the link to Dr. Paul's website. I found this clip there about Educating Rudy Guiliani.
