babies were delivered at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, N.J., by caesarean section.

"Baby A" weighed 4 pounds, 11.4 ounces, and "Baby B" weighed 4 pounds, 11 ounces.

Birnbaum said she felt great after delivering the two boys. "This is so wonderful, I feel so relaxed. It has been a great experience," she said.

Early Wednesday morning the boys were already breathing on their own and getting ready for a bottle feeding, doctors from the hospital said.

Mom rested well all night, and doctors described the morning as "a normal postpartum day one, without a hitch!"

Birnbaum, who is a psychologist, and her husband Ken, a Manhattan attorney, have three other children — a 6-year-old son, a 29-year-old daughter and a 33-year-old son.

The husband and wife of 38 years said they had not settled on the names, but were leaning toward Jake and Jared.

What is this "she" crap??? I think it was a decision made by her and her hubby. No one ever says anything bout men having babies when they are 80 - hell look at Larry King. They pat men on the back and toast his "accomplishment"............... if the couple wants to have a child and can then I say do what makes ya happy. They are cute kids......... both of them.

That is just being selfish on the part of the parents, in my opinion. I don't know that many 65-75 year olds with the energy, patience and ability to teach a child how to ride a bike, or play football with them, or even play catch with a baseball. They should have thought more about what would be best for the child they would bring in at that age, instead of what makes them happy.

As far as Larry King and the like having kids at an advanced age, they are married to young trophy wives that will still be around to raise the child after they die of old age.

Brother-in-law and wife had twins when brother-in-law was 50. I thought that was fairly selfish. Now, he's wanting to retire from his gubbmit job at 60 and there are major children issues......his retirement pay won't increase much, but their expense are going to increase exponentially over the next few years. And of course, he expects his wife to keep working. She's fairly vocal about his finding another job, no matter what (he's kind of a lazy sort). I don't get what people are thinking. But if these folks made this decision knowing what they must know as professional adults, then I can't throw stones. Good for them!

Well she has a 33 yo daughter I think so that makes it OK for her too......... Larry ain't the only one in town with game...........LOL

So you're saying that it's OK for her to have babies at that advanced age because if she dies, her 33 year old daughter can take over the mothering duties? That doesn't seem to good of a deal for the 33 year old daughter who is probably trying to raise a family of her own.
