I'd like to see some real investigative reporting. I know money's tight for the news reporting agencies in SW Kansas, but we have some good folks up here that dig right in. They've done some exposes on government workers, for instance reporting on a judge who routinely took afternoons off. All the while, he was complaining because his docket was overloaded and there needed to be another judge hired. Since that report, he no longer takes afternoons off.
That's probably a problem I would work harder to solve if I lived there now. Your news sources are a little timid about biting onto a problem and seeing it through to the end. About the only way the citizens ever hear of anything is by word of mouth or here on this board or the
other one. Seems like most people just crawl in a hole and pull it in after themselves and it really does no one any good.
OK - I'm off the soapbox. Good luck!
