Thanks for another opportunity at the verbal Judo.... I love it
Oil refineries are running at capacity and if one has to go down for any reason it effects the oil mkt. Read the news. Do a google search for oil refinery under news and see what you find. Also oil companies cannot build any new refineries...do you know WHY?

P.S. This is not verbal Judo in my opinion...just exchanging ideas...

We haven’t built any new refineries in over 30 years because of environmental regulations.

We are drilling some new wells but not enough because of environmental regulations.

Those two things create high paying jobs for American citizens but since that work is going overseas so go those jobs.

Everybody gets what they deserve if they want to curtail oil production and refining..... It's too bad CONgress decided that we must also ride on their wave.

It boiled down to that most of the world thought that Russia shouldn't be involved in that war in Afghanistan, just like most of the world thinks that we shouldn't be involved in Iraq.

This conflict in Iraq will never be "won." It might possibly be brought to manageable levels, but I'm not real sure about that. As long as we are there there will be insurgents that are determined to fight with us as an invading and occupying nation in that country.
Bubba,
You are missing the point. You are correct that we supplied the insurgents with weapons and training, but the point was that we run the very real risk of turning this place into another Afghanistan. The Soviets left that country without the means to police itself. The same will happen here, if we pull out too soon.

It can be won. Victory means setting this Gov't up so it CAN police itself. We're working on it, but it takes time. Alot of time. I can report that we are doing very well at removing key leaders of bad guy organizations, and that training is being conducted with the Iraqi Security Forces. In most cases, the Iraqi Army in our sector has the ability to conduct "stand alone" operations. We are still working as advisors here, because there is always room for improvment. The stronger they are, the sooner we can get outta Iraq for good.

BTW, you should have seen what the Soviets did to Afghanistan. The Taliban was not much better.

7 out of 18 provinces now have responsibility for their own security since US forces handed over the three northern provinces to the Kurdish regional government last week.

It was all over the news wasn’t it?

Not any news you get nationally.....But some will say the media isn't Liberal or bias. All you here is that the surge isn't working...yadda yadda yadda.......
This is news that could be and should be reported. If the media wanted to there is a lot of good things happening in Iraq they could do stories on but they just don't. They want to talk about bodies, bullets and bombs...

Sorry..
Going back to the oil business... so what your saying Highway is the environmental issues with the refining of.....not so much the discovery of...
I'm just wondering ...what the difference is in refining our own oil as opposed to refining middle east oil or any oil from overseas...Not trying to be a SA....I really don't understand..
I know Ky has strict environmental laws...

Here’s a link that I found on the RIGZONE site that explains the refinery problem better than I can.
