| Andrew Speaker Just want to get your take on it : You can't keep sick folks from Traveling ... so I'm not shocked by that... But Homeland Security.....shocked me One good piece of news tho.... Dr.Kavorian will be released from prison today... Thank God..... cause I don"t want to go to a nursing home !!!!!!!! well on second thought ..... it could be that I would be the most popular one there......eeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww....... sick sick sick....

| I respect the CDC and all - I interface with them on a daily basis. Altho I do agree if he had negative smears(which he did) then by all stadards - he isn't a threat.

| Andrew Speaker is a selfish idiot. He’s also a lawyer that does personal injury suits and really should have known better because he could be sued by the other passengers. Also he flew out of Atlanta and Georgia has a reckless endangerment law so he could face criminal charges. The guy at the boarder that let him back in has been fired.

| If they don't go after the STD's that screw daily........... they otta let him seek his treatment and let the lawsuits settle themselves. If you had an inkling of how many TB cases arre walkin around......... it would scare ya to death!

| TK is right A lot of the diseases that we thought were pretty much gone are now coming back... One of the reasons for Ellis Island was to screen folks for illness... Mr Speaker had traveled to Southeast Asia and may have been exposed there if that is the truth...I guess civilians that travel overseas don't have the strict guidelines that the military does..... Your tested and immunized before you go and your tested again before you return....but the problem is ...tests don't work in the early stages on some illnesses....

| TB is one of them - chances are you wouldn't ever really know who exposed you should you ever get the TB germ. You can have the germ and never get the disease. The disease isn't always in the lungs and ya just don't get a 22mm reaction overnight. Besides that a 10mm on me is + for you it may not be + till it's 15mm and for some it's + at 5mm If his smears were neg he probably was fine. I think CDC was just pissed that he didn't follow thier instructions to go to Italy for treatment. I think it's political and it wouldn't be the first time a citizen took on a govt agency. I also bet he wins. This is also probably a good lesson as to why you shouldn't take antibiotics unless needed. Superbugs............. a really ugly thing. There are a lot of lessons here besides if he should have boarded a plane or not. We didn't have drug resistant TB like this in the 50's................. one guess as to why!!
