Senate votes to NOT vote on Immigration Bill

Our US sinators voted in-such-a-way as to allow them to duck-and-run away from voting on the immigration reform bill. Their fancy foot work prevented that bill from coming to the sinate floor for a vote....

It looked like they were duckin and runnin from each other to me - like the boxing match on the senate floor.......... they otta toss those 2 out and have another election. I thought I was watchin another country's goverment!

The duckin and runnin was the US senate - the actual punch throwin was the Alabama Senate. My thoughts were runnin together.

I've never understood the process. It seems like such a waste of time. Just like the presidents veto of the Iraq funding thing. Bush said he would veto any thing with a withdraw time-line attached, but they send it through anyway and then get upset when it gets vetoed.

The people have clearly expressed their plan to deny any amnesty plan so why do they waste their time?

In the meantime, they all meet for tax-supported drinks and dinner knowing full well that if and when their voters decide to toss them out, they will become lobbyists and get a great big salary increase.

You’re right JW, it should have a lot of debate and amendments. Heck, it needs to be thrown out.

The supporters of the bill wanted to railroad it through without debate and changes but they didn’t have enough support to bring it to a vote. The opposition wanted debate and changes and wouldn’t allow that vote so it was tabled.

THEN have a bill to HOLD companies accountable for hiring illegals...
