Aquila Natural Gas increase

So are they increasing it or are they asking for an increase?

The Kansas Corporation Commission has authorized a 3.6 percent rate increase, down from the 5.1 percent increase Aquila requested in Nov. 2006. The new rates apply only to the cost of delivering gas to Aquila customers and not to the cost of gas itself.

I would need more information before being able to make comments. I would like to know what Aquila's justification behind the increase is (ie exploration costs, labor, competition, infrastructure, etc). Since Aquila is a "for profit" corporation, I would also like to know if they are experiencing losses, or profits. I would have a hard time supporting a company pleading poverty if their balance sheets indicate otherwise.

exploration is thier common answer - I think they base thier rates on "futures" - course I don't really know but everyone has a reason to increase rates - my view is it's - cause they can.

When we acknowledge the declining value of the US dollar we'll begin to understand the 'so called' rate increase.

It's the way we pay for war.

It's also known as Inflation.
