| Boy's Family Upset At Unflattering Awards Well at least there was no underage sex involved! Sometimes I worry bout teachers. There is good and bad in all I guess - just seems like teachers often are spotlighted for the most ignorant behavior. Ya wonder what they teach. Where's the good news? These teachers should have shown up at the house to apologize - screw the phone crap. Looks like they feel they are above any standards or policies. Just a sad thing for this little boy. | I could see something like this for a SEnior in High School, which would be a normal type joke at that age, but not for a 6th grader. Of course I got "prizes" like that starting in Kindergarten, so I proved them all wrong!!  |

| Hell, my 5th grade teacher called me a "witch" and made me ride around the room on a broom with a piece of gum on my nose so that it looked like a wart........ Needless to say, my mother put a stop to that crap REAL fast.....one call to the Principal and that was the last time THAT ever happened!

| Some teachers either have no idea how their actions can scar a child or just don't give a crap. I can clearly remember to this day when my kindergarten teacher embarrassed me and it wasn't until years later I figured out why. I burped out loud, not on purpose, in class and my teacher said "What do you say?" but for some reason the first thing that came to mind was Thank You! She thought I was being a smart-ass and made me set in the corner. The kids all laughed and I had no idea what I had done wrong.

| Yep I agree D........ The same 5th grade teacher mentioned above also got a kick out of making you sit in a corner with a bucket (one she used to mix clay for pottery in) over your head....of course, in front of everyone. She was a real sicko......

| My daughter's 2nd grade teacher told her she was so stupid that she would never get out of 2nd grade (in front of me). Took it to principal, super and school board. Teacher had tenure and NOTHING happened to her. Now she is a counselor (the teacher) and my daughter is teaching. I bet my stupid daughter is a better teacher than the teacher is a counselor.
