That's tough news....

The crew's injuries aren't life-threatening but lifestyle is going to be of concern.... a vertical drop/stop to a sitting individual causes major back damage.

My Prayers to those individuals....

This helicoptor crew has been a godsend to this part of Kansas. I don't think people realize how many times they fly and to where. We need them all back in the sky when they are able.

I did not see the condition of the copter during the news. I just heard from the distance. Can anyone make out the damage or even just how it happened?

The Helo will have to be recertified after rebuilding it. The accident was caused be a 30MPH windgust and the pilot could'nt control it. (too close to the ground too much wind to fast)

Always sad to hear this kind of news about the angels of mercy. I hope everyone involved is going to be OK.

In this case, the copter was forced to land 'with the wind'

Blame it on the folks who set up the landing zone.

I'll bet one whole doG biscuit... err: cookie (AND EVEN throw in a FREE tire wash) that the outcome of this incident will include a mandate that the copter's final approach into the landing zone will be 'into' the wind.
