They could probably net 5 times that here in Dodge...more bang for their buck! I wonder what it would take to make this happen?

Immigration arrests more than 160 in Ohio

CINCINNATI (Reuters) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said more than 160 employees were arrested at a Koch Foods Inc. chicken plant in Fairfield, Ohio, on Tuesday as part of a criminal operation against illegal immigrants employed at the plant.

"As of 2:45 p.m. (EDT) more than 180 Koch employees have been identified for further questioning and more than 160 have been administratively arrested for immigration violations," ICE special agent in charge Brian Moskowitz told a news conference in Cincinnati.

What would happen if they actually deported the illegals in Dodge ?
Would it be a ghost town or would it survive?

Not trying to be a smart a$$, just wondering ?

IT's a double edged sword. What did Dodge do before the illegals came here? Did it survive? A lot of money would go away and a lot of business's would close down immidiately but in the LONG run the public services should get better, the schools should get better, the crime should go down (along with the taxes???) and such. These would be longer term things though. With the casino coming in and the business with it Dodge could grow in a positive fashion instead of with all the bad things the packing houses bring.

I just called that ICE hotline and the only information I could think of to report is rumors on here. Could that be prosecuted as false evidence? I am willing to call everyday! Just tell me what to say! lol

I guess my response would be how many workers are truly illegal? The article reported the Koch Foods plant in Ohio. Fairfield had a 2000 population of 42,000 people. 1.53% were hispanic of any race or 643. They arrested 160 people, creating a percentage of 25%. How many illegals hispanics does one think are in DC? I know our 2000 census states we have around 25,000 residents. At that time, we had a demographic of hispanics of any race as 42%. Using these figures as a comparison, I would say DC has an illegal problem of about 2600 people. Further, the census states DC has 8300 families. So I would guesstimate there are around 3 people per family. IF 2600 are indeed illegal, then around 800 families would disperse from the city, leaving the town with 90% of its population. Based upon those numbers, I believe DC could handle that. It would definately allow the community a little breathing room in the schools, law enforcement and such. (I hope my numbers kind of make sense...I'm just trying to figure out just how "big" of a problem DC really has. And I think that's the part that scares everyone, or at least me. And that would be the unknown. We are always told what would happen if all the illegals left. While no number would justify their illegal stay here, it would be nice to have at least some tally. That's what I was trying to prove with the numbers and such.)

That census is outdated I would guess. The demographic of hispanics is now probably 70%. Take a look at the school population. Then you have to figure out what is illegal. Is that just people that don't have papers period or do you figure in the one's that are here "legally" with false papers they bought in Denver or South Dodge or wherever.....As a recruiter I can tell you I talk to A LOT of kids that have no SSN. (Cause I ask)
