Thank you guys for all of the positive comments and support. It is greatly appreciated! I'm so glad that the DCCC radio holds many fond memories with you as well as me. Let's keep this station running!

NO TO PUBLIC RADIO!

Thanks again...

We do use Culligan Water but Damon bought the coffee. The cheap stuff...

It's not poison, just very bitter.

Come on out Kodiak. I'll pour 'ya a cup and watch your puss pucker.

I love this station. I just wish I could get it on my radio at work.

I say keep it local and crank up the power!

That's going to happen soon. There is a problem with our antenna system that will be fixed when the tower climber-upper gets here.

I have been thinking about scheduling a 'local talent' hour but haven't decided what day(s) or time. I've held off making this decision while the students organize their show times.

Currently we produce
"The Morning Trainwreck" from 7-10 am on Weekdays.
"KonQ Kast" from 7-9 pm on Monday.
"DC Rocks" from 7-9 pm on Wednesday.
"Rock The Nation" from 2:30 until about 4 pm on Weekdays.

And we are calling for talent to fill other times.

The really great thing about our software vs. manual operation is that new shows can be created at the producers convenience and scheduled to play without relying on human power.

NoLongerInRadio guy could/can work from his home computer and import his show to KONQ and it will play when scheduled.

The simplest task we are calling for is individual voices to record our "legal ID" announcements. They simply say:

"You are listening to The New Q-92
KONQ
91.9 FM
DODGE CITY KANSAS
The Voice of the Dodge City Community College"

Once this is recorded, the track is inserted into the legal ID rotation file and your voice will be heard.

Those of you who aren't local, you can still record an ID voice file (ogg prefered) and attach it to a DodgeBoard reply. I'll grab it and run it.

FWIW, we use Audacity for recording and ZaraRadio for automation. Both are freeware.

i had a couple of buddies that were in the dc3 radio program the past few years...fun times goin there and being on the radio from time to time. I'd be somethin fun to do in spare time. Can anyone get a slot, or would you have to be a student in the program?

Students have the priority but lots of time is available for local issues.

Now that we have a level of automation, we are in the position to allow programming that's not practical under manual operation. That being said, we will consider all local programs and issues.

What kind of program do you have in mind?

And yes, we'd be glad to run a program from the Master of Minerals.

I like the Master of Minerals! I sure think it would be interesting, treasure hunting. Eventually Detector, the radio will probably be online, I know it sure used to.

See, lots of great changes happening!
