Hit and run

My mom in law was just rear ended in front of furniture outlet. early model ford Van 73-74? Light blue in color. When she got out of the car he he pulled in behind that car dealership behind the office right across from funiture outlet. She ran after him and behind the office and she could see the van and him inside ducking down. She walked up to the van and asked him what he thought he was doing leaving the scene of an accident. He replied that was never in an accident and she was mistaken. She went into the dealership to have them call 911 and get a piece of paper to right down the tag. The dealership never called the police, they just stood and looked at her as she was all upset. She got something to write on and went out back and he was taking off a dealership tag. This dealership was not interested in someone on their property out back of their office and refused to call the police. After the tag was removed he backed up and gassed the van right at her to get her to move and he was gone.
She had to go to Weiss Furniture to call the cops. Of course the van was long gone. She did let him have a few choice words though.

Hummmm... the dealership wouldnt call the cops and wouldn't go outside their office to check on someone in their lot in trouble. The Van had a dealer tag on it before he removed it in her presence. Wonder if the PD can figure this one out?

She was so upset she couldn't remember what the name of that car dealership, it used to belong to Bruce Trent years ago and I beleive Rostetler had a place there at one time. Not sure what it is called until I go by there myself.

CALLING ALL CARS EARLY 70's blue Van with possible blue paint on the front bumper. It took out her bumper and some body damage.

It's too bad she didn't have a cell phone. I would have started snapping multiple pictures and recording the whole thing... Hopefully justice will be served but you have to realize where you live....

How many early 70's model blue ford vans can their be in Dodge City? Do dealerships have to register their cars some place before they can sell them?

Cell phone? She can't even aford her rent living alone in her late 60's?

I was just saying about the cell phone...what if?

If that van belongs to the dealership it will probably be back in the next day or two.

Ok I have some things I got wrong in my original post. It was a 70's caravan type not the type of Van I originally pictured but after talking with her. And she says it may not have been a dealer tag, she couldn't be sure but thought it was.

So Thats what I get for posting before asking a thousand questions of her.

She said they didn't refuse to call the police but must not have called because it had been like 10 minutes (with her car in the middle of second street) and they wouldn't tell her if they called. Then she went to Weiss to use the phone.

Why wouldn't they go outside and check on an old lady in need of help? Your guess is as good as mine. And it is the Rostetler place.

I wonder if it’s the same dealer that was talked about in this thread?

Your Mom's still feisty, competent and able to drive her car, right?

Shoot first, ask questions later!!!

I had a red Intrepid pull a J turn in front of the Post Office awhile back, and ran into my car. Crunched my fender pretty good. As I was getting out of my car, and reaching for my cell phone, the perpetrator just yelled "no problemo", and sped off before I could get a tag number. Yes, they want all of the benefits of living in the USA, but they don't want to obey any of our laws!!

Maybe if we "drop a few" when they screw with us, they will get the picture and go home!!
