Garth Brooks!!!

Tickets are hard to come by for this one - especially at $25 a pop. But I did it! I got 5!!!!! Wish I could take ya'all, but I actually bought these for a friend who is computer illiterate and wouldn't have gotten in on time. Woo Hoo!!!!!

$25 a pop for G. Brooks tickets? It should be 125 at least...

Well, tickets were supposed to be available only to people with MO, KS, NE, IA (and one other state that I can't remember) mailing addresses. The tickets were inexpensive to allow as many fans as possible to attend. I managed to get 5 upper tickets for a friend at work. I'm too old for this stuff, or I'd have bought 6! He said only one show, but as tickets sold out, he added another 4 (unless he added another while I wasn't looking!) It was amazing the tickets were going so quickly. I had three computers set to the ticket site - got through on one of them. I was elated, until I saw some tickets on Craig's List and on Ebay. Grrrr

Either Thursday or Friday, fans started lining up at the Sprint Center to buy tickets. They had a certain number of wristbands that they gave to the first people in line. They were numbered. Then as ticket sales began, those people with wrist bands only could line up- in numerical order with unbanded people behind them. People camped overnight to get wristbands. I guess the $1000 they'll make off their tickets made the overnight worth it. There's an ad on Craig's List for a family in Leawood (anybody with tears, yet?) wanting to trade their Garth floor seats (2) for Hanna Montana (any seats). Good trick. So. I went on Ebay. I can find Hanna tickets for around $225 a pop. So if I wanted to attend Garth on the floor, I could buy the Hanna tickets and get floor seats cheaper than the scalpers. It's truly amazing.

p.s. I just now noticed there are 9 shows scheduled - all sold out. I don't know if they allowed everybody in the country finally to buy tickets or not. Hooooly cow!

I was offered 4 tickets for free.

My response was, "I thought he was retired? Thanks but no."

Guess I should have taken them and sold em.

I paid 90 to see eminem and 90 to see Marilyn Manson... Shakira tickets in Denver cost me 100.00 a pop. Garth at 25 bones is a steal.

wow that's a lot of money for crappy music.

Even music I like isn't worth that much to me. The CD costs less, sounds better, I can listen to it when I want, I don't have to worry about drunk *******s or getting a contact high from the pot.

The only thing I like about live concerts is the eventuality that some woman somewhere in the crowd is gonn show her boobs.

But even there I'd rather pay the 5 bucks to get into the strip club.

I tried to buy just 2 after I bought the first 5, thinking it would be a really nice drawing prize for somebody at work - we're all working too hard these days and we ALL like country music. So the idea of seeing Garth and his bride in one show woulda made it worth the extra $50. But there was no go on that. I couldn't get any other tickets for any show. Tickets seemed to sell as fast as they announced a new show. Freakin' amazing. And now I'm seeing Ebay and Craig's List with prices that just make me sick, knowing how much they really paid.

Sometimes you can't get the live music on CD..and some performers are incredible live...(manson). I've been to MANY MANY concerts and am very seldom disapointed. Girls gone wild was at Eminem so between sets the girls in the crowd were showing their stuff off...It was a good night indeedy.
