the first requirement to join the CPA is to graduate from the citizen's police academy classes. Then you file a formal application and a background check is done on you. You then go through an interview process. If accepted you go through both field and classroom training.
Since the Auxiliary does so many different things for the PD there is a lot of training.
Yes...you would be called out for traffic duty, crime scene protection, backup for officers when neccessary, 4th of July security.
No it is not a security unit...It is a complete unit of the Dodge City Police Department. Yes...they know most of the gangbangers by site and name...yes they do report a lot of things...yes they do surv...survell...heck they watch for a lot of things.
